Fourth of July is my sister Jennifer's birthday, which we all get together and celebrate with a bbq and cake. That's all fine and good, but what we really get together for is Cut-Throat Croquet.
Cut-Throat Croquet can turn the most mild-mannered citizens....
Into savages....
We take the shit pretty seriously, too. Here, the judges are called in to determine if the yellow team's ball has made it through or not.
(Notice one judge is pushing for and one judge is pushing against....lol)
Our friend, Lynn, really keeps her eye on the ball....
Here, Bubba assumes the position and gets major air on a ball that only has to go a couple of feet.
Here's Tara in the cheering section....
Well, the Blue team won this year, followed by my team--the orange team. My team actually would have won if we would have cheated more, but that's ok.
Following the bbq and the birthday festivities, my sister likes to get everyone together for what she calls, "freaks with fireworks".....
Which is usually followed by.....
LOL.................j/k. We're a sober group. :)

Hmmm... as another mentioned I remember some VERY competative wiffleball tourney's as a child... kids VS parents. But then again I'm never sure how serious your entries are. How much blood was spilt at this croquet tourney/barbequ? Does look like everyone was having an awesome time! I see you recieved an honorable mention in the guest editor's journal. Well deserved indeed.
