Name That Wildcat

Listening to George Michael's "Amazing"

I’d thought to hold off on this for a few more days, but there appears to be enough interest to stop making my blue-striped furball wait.  You’re looking at the official mascot for “The Wildcat’s Lair.”  Of course, he can’t be the Wildcat.  That’s me, by God, and I’m not sharing the name either.  So we gotta find this guy a name.  Come to think of it, I’m not even sure he’s a he.  Hmmm…  I’ll let you folks decide that, too.

That’s the purpose of this brief post.  I’m going to hold a month-long contest within the Lair, “Name That Wildcat.”  We’ve already gotten at least two suggestions so far.  Jess suggested we name him after a constellation like “Orion.”  Before that, Dianne thought of giving the Lair’s mascot a name counter to my own, “Tameman.”  Both ideas have merit, but I suspect the rest of you might toss out some equally interesting suggestions.  At the end of the month, I’ll pick the new name for my blog’s pet cat from your ideas.  As a prize, the person giving the winning suggestion gets to… um, hmmm… well, name the wildcat.  Oh dear… That sounds rather lame, doesn’t it?  Okay, well I’ll work on that.

I’ll take suggestions from now until Monday, November 28th.  Post your suggestions to this blog entry or any future “reminder” entries I post throughout the month.  Beyond that, just be as creative as you like.

No wildcats were harmed in the making of this blog entry.

Hiccup. That's a great name for a wildcat. But then what do I know? I named my favorite cat Pizza, and her son Pepperoni. I also have a John Jacob Jinglehiemer Smidt. Hiccup, just like what he did in the bookstore.

Switching up the colors every now and then would definitely be interesting.  I might well do it at some point, but I'm not sure when.  Green is another of my favorite colors, but even if the blog look changes, I doubt we'll make the mascot change his stripes.

Oh, looks like I have vested interest to keep an eye on this one.  I think I should be part of the juding.
When are we going to start seeing you sign in green.  I still think the green looked best.  Or maybe you should switch them up a bit so we can get to know the colors.

Wow.. I am  honored! I've never made it on a "list" before!!   I have no idea why but thank you!!...
Now, about your cat...  you may need male or female names since at the moment the poor thing is sexless!.. sheesh..
I have to think on a proper name but one name I have is "Flitz".. you didn't want a common name did you? lol.. If so something like Roamer since "it" will be roaming the universe!  ok.. so I'll think on it more..
Good talking to you the other day in email.. (it's yours to do with as you please)

Is this one of those cases where family members can't enter? If not, then I'll suggest a name. How about Libris.
