WILDCAT'S WALLPAPERS: My Halloween Costume (Part II)

At this point, I cut out the eyes with the eraser and colored my skin blue using the “colorize” option again.  I do the same for my blue jeans, but in this case, I change the saturation level of the colorize function to zero, turning the jeans to black.

For the red eyes, I use one of the “preset shapes” available.  In this case, a shiny, blue ball which I turned red with the colorize function (Use this a lot, don’t I?).  I just made two of these and placed them beneath the openings where my eyes were.

There you have it.  I’ve transformed myself from a plain mortal Wildcat to a blue-skinned Jedi Knight.  In this case, the alien that I changed myself into is called a “Chiss.”  This was the race of the main villain in Timothy Zahn’s original Star Wars trilogy (all three really great books!).

But let’s face it.  Even with the transformation, I look rather silly in front of my bedroom, so I looked for something more dramatic.  I used Google’s image search to find a picture of “wildfires,” and found the perfect background.  Well, almost perfect.

I decided the slope of the hill would work better going the opposite direction so I just did a “mirror” effect, resized it, and there you have the finished product.

I used these same techniques to do a picture with me and my son.  He loves it when I change the color of his skin and my own.  The kids will get endless entertainment out of this.  For my part, I find it hilarious when my kids cry out the term “Flesh tone!  Do flesh tone, Daddy!”

By the way, here's a link to an animated gif that our very own Pat did.  She actually took the original image I posted on Halloween and animated it.  The effect is just awesome and really cracked me up.
