I have just rediscovered my journal and now am in the process of deciding which direction I want to go with this and if the journal is something I want to keep. For an update, I didn't get the funds raised for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk so I didn't get to walk. I am trying to decide if I want to take a part time job to help my husband out with the finances, do I want to continue with MOMS Club and do I want to be a board member next year, I also have PTO Meetings and volunteer in the classsroom to help my son's teacher out. I have a lot of respect for her keeping 21 rowdy children under control all day and then going home and dealing with her own children one of which is ADHD. So this is what's new with me. What's been going on with all of you lately?

My current car is a blue Nissan Pathfinder, I used to drive a white Mercury Sable. Good for hauling the kids around in. Since the A/C went out and the transmission is going bad we had to get rid of it while we could. Didn't get the money I was hoping for. Anyways I have already grown attached to the pathfinder. My husband has to fight me for it.

Time sure does fly by fast. I hadn't even realized it has been 3 months since I last got to sit down and do any blogging. Between MOMS Club - I was voted in as chapter secretary, swim lessons for the children - Phoenix Aquatics people are awesome, the housework, fundraising and trying to schedule training in. It keeps me busy. Wayne complains that all I do is sit around. Fat chance I wish I could sit around and do nothing all day. Well need to get Matt up can't believe he is still sleeping. Usually the garbage truck wakes him up.

I'm all gung ho about fundraising this year It's hard to find the time to train. If I wait until Wayne get's home from work there's dinner to make, dishes to wash, kids to get ready for bed, by the time it's all done and I'm ready to walk it's 9pm then I end up staying awake because of the exercise high. If I try to go before Wayne goes to work I'll have to be up at 2 am and back by 3 am. He works construction and they have to start early around here because of the summer heat.

I've raised almost $300.00. I know it sounds like I'm bragging but for me talking to people and asking them for money is the hardest thing in the world for me. The words get all jumbled and just don't come out right. That is why I prefer writting. You can always go back and edit to make sure everything is clear and concise. The biggest thing I have to say about fundraising is that you have to ask. If you don't ask you can't recieve. Seriously, it does help to have a good cause and to believe in that cause. I believe in a world with out breast cancer. That is why I'm willing to work to make that happen.

My boy started coughing the other day and then developed a fever after a visit to the doctor it has been determined that he has an ear infection a complication to allergies. All the desert pollen blowing around. Now the girls are coughing I'm told that they have some sort of virus that gave them a cold so between the fevers, coughing, trips to the pharmacy and doctor visits, it's been hard getting stuff done around here. The good news is there is a lot less bickering. They just don't have it in them right now.

I was going to add a widget to show my progress of my fundraising for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk but was unable to get the script to work. So I'll have to just update the information as it changes.

Now to the subject of fundraising. I got some good ideas at the "At It Again" Workshop. Besides doing the letter campaign which worked really well for me last year I want to try and do something different to change things a little. Although I did learn to stick with what worked last year and change it a bit like doing something that is community oriented.

There were some good ideas such as a wine tasting and a benefit night at a restraunt. I think I would like to try and do a benefit night or maybe even a golf tournament. I remember one of the companies I worked for did a golf benefit a long time ago and raised a lot of money for the Crittenton Foundation. I think I'll have to tap my resources and see if we can get a golf tournament going. Talk to the girl who organized it all to see what is all involved.

I'm so excited. I talked at an orientation presentation the other night. Much to my surprise it went very well there were 24 people there and about 20 people signed up to walk right there on the spot. I shared my experience with fundraising and training for the walk last year. The 3-Day has definately been a life changing experience for me. Who would of ever thought that I would talk to complete strangers, telling them about breast cancer and asking them to support me on a 60 mile walk over 3 days. For those wondering it's more than two marathons. Anyone reading this would like to help me out and donate here's a link to my fundraising page for more information visit the Breast Cancer 3-Day site at http://www.the3day.org all proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the cure they fund cancer research, education, screening and treatment and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund it ensures that there will be long-term support for breast cancer initiatives including research, treatment, prevention, and education.
