Hello! Its been awhile, to say the least. We survived the bone chilling winter of "08"! Our area of Wisconsin set new snowfall records, we had 120 inches of snow. Spring was really soggy, still had piles of snow around the yard in April.
In May, I went to Nebraska, for my nephews graduation. The weather was perfect all weekend. Dawn had a lot of 'help' getting ready for Logan's graduation party. Denise, Diana and I were in charge of replenishing the food and drinks, during the party.
I quit smoking in June...it is still a daily struggle. To combat the weight gain, I switched to a vegetarian diet. (Poor Jon!) After 40 years of smoking...decided that it was time for me to finally quit. I only 'cheated' twice...until my 53rd birthday. (Smoked 8 that day.) Back on track now, but still get pretty antsy at times.(Poor, poor Jon!)
Hubby has been very supportive, and biting his tongue most of the time. He just isn't ready to quit yet, at least he goes outside to smoke now. (I quit smoking in the house when we repainted it, about 6 years ago.)
Planted a garden late in May, just to keep myself busy. About a week after I planted beans and peas...we had severe storms. Most of the seeds were either washed away, or eaten by the birds. So purchased more seeds to plant. Walked out to check the garden one morning, and watched a house wren, routing up seeds...enjoying a breakfast of lima bean seeds. lol. The tomatoes, squash, watermelon, red peppers and onions are quickly filling in the empty rows. I stop at the farmers market on Friday, for fresh produce. I bought jars and pectin last week, because I am making wild Black Raspberry jam. Started picking raspberries a couple of weeks ago, and freezing them. Just need 1 more pint of raspberries, then I'll have enough for a batch of jam.
Still working on ceramics. Witchypoo, is one of my favorites, it holds a bottle of wine. And now resides in my daughters home. I always give the best ones away. lol. I want to start Stained Glass classes, this fall.
Well, gotta go....getting ansty..
No matter what situations life throws at you...
no matter how long and treacherous your journey may seem...
Remember, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Bottle of Jack Daniels-----$25

Joy ride on Lake Wisconsin...... PRICELESS!

The owner of this vehicle, enjoys whipping around on the frozen lake. This year he went through the ice, on Tuesday night. Fortuneately no one was hurt, and they were both able to get out of the vehicle.
Yesterday's live entertainment, from a cozy bar seat with a great view. More spectators watching the guys struggle out on the ice, than watching the Packer game. lol! It was really interesting, listening to all the "theories" on HOW TO. Even Humpty Dumpty would have a problem yesterday. On the second attempt, the truck tipped sideways, and slowly sank back down again. I felt sorry for the guys, who worked on getting the truck out of the ice all day.

Thought of you when I made the pumpkin pie. Wish you were here, we could have a slice for breakfast. LOL!

If you go shopping today, don't forget your hat! LOL! Too bad, it doesn't sparkle or have blinking lights.
I know how happy you are, that your favorite driver won another NASCAR championship! Looking forward to going to Texas, and Michigan races next year?

My Thanksgiving cactus, is in bloom. Wish you were here to see it.

Hugs, for the birthday girl. Hope your day is as special as your are.
Just have a couple things to order online, today. Then I'm finished with the gift shopping. Black Friday, didn't scare me in the least. Got up early, and started shopping online. No crowds, traffic and long lines to deal with. LOL!
Hugs ~n~ Kisses
Mama Baller

Gave this to Jenny last year, for her birthday. She was born the day before Thanksgivng, in 1976.

Finally getting around to viewing the photo's, taken last week in Nebraska. This is a Rhode Island Red Rooster, in my sister Diana's backyard.
Went back home last week, to lend a hand to sister Di. Got to feed and water, and gather eggs. Drove Sis, around town. She seemed to be more comfortable sitting in the back seat. lol! Diand had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. All is well, she can drive now...just not go back to work for 4 more weeks. lol.
Have taken a lot of bird photo's lately. We have had another, winged visitor in the yard this week.....! Tune in for the next update...and find out.

Is he rolling his eyes? LOL!
I'm going to Nebraska next week, to help my sister. She had a surgery on Monday, and wanted help for the first 2 weeks. I get the second week. Her hubby and baby sister are spliting this week. Diana was really tickled this morning, since the Dr. is letting her go home a day earlier than planned
Looking forward to seeing sister, but not too excited about feeding chickens, and gathering eggs. Good thing I'm not afraid of snakes, guess they have a bull snake out by the chicken coop.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Pileated Woodpecker. Have spotted her several times in the past 4 years. She wasn't very happy with me, trying to take her photo.

The hummingbirds, buntings, orioles, and goldfinches have returned!! The yard is starting to shape up. Keeps Jon busy, on the weekend.lol.
Visited a few journals, over the weekend. Didn't leave comments in all of them, but I do try and keep up to date on things, in j-land. Stopped by Nancyluvspix, and fell in love with the photo fx, of her dogs, decided to give it a try.
