Hello! Its been awhile, to say the least. We survived the bone chilling winter of "08"! Our area of Wisconsin set new snowfall records, we had 120 inches of snow. Spring was really soggy, still had piles of snow around the yard in April.
In May, I went to Nebraska, for my nephews graduation. The weather was perfect all weekend. Dawn had a lot of 'help' getting ready for Logan's graduation party. Denise, Diana and I were in charge of replenishing the food and drinks, during the party.
I quit smoking in June...it is still a daily struggle. To combat the weight gain, I switched to a vegetarian diet. (Poor Jon!) After 40 years of smoking...decided that it was time for me to finally quit. I only 'cheated' twice...until my 53rd birthday. (Smoked 8 that day.) Back on track now, but still get pretty antsy at times.(Poor, poor Jon!)
Hubby has been very supportive, and biting his tongue most of the time. He just isn't ready to quit yet, at least he goes outside to smoke now. (I quit smoking in the house when we repainted it, about 6 years ago.)
Planted a garden late in May, just to keep myself busy. About a week after I planted beans and peas...we had severe storms. Most of the seeds were either washed away, or eaten by the birds. So purchased more seeds to plant. Walked out to check the garden one morning, and watched a house wren, routing up seeds...enjoying a breakfast of lima bean seeds. lol. The tomatoes, squash, watermelon, red peppers and onions are quickly filling in the empty rows. I stop at the farmers market on Friday, for fresh produce. I bought jars and pectin last week, because I am making wild Black Raspberry jam. Started picking raspberries a couple of weeks ago, and freezing them. Just need 1 more pint of raspberries, then I'll have enough for a batch of jam.
Still working on ceramics. Witchypoo, is one of my favorites, it holds a bottle of wine. And now resides in my daughters home. I always give the best ones away. lol. I want to start Stained Glass classes, this fall.
Well, gotta go....getting ansty..
No matter what situations life throws at you...
no matter how long and treacherous your journey may seem...
Remember, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Great to see ya around again! I never realized just how talented you were...I'm very impressed! Come by and visit my journal sometime, ya hear?
By the way, I'm eating more and more veggie dinners. Any non meat recipes that you like would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to see you back. Witchypoo is so cute. Good luck on not smoking anymore. Ken probably smoked for 40 years and has now been quit since 2000. We have had a hot dry summer here. You all really had a lot of snow this past winter, no amount of snowfall here to count. That jam sounds like it will be delicious. Hugs, Helen
