Feeling Quiet
Hearing AOL Radio-Comedy Attack-Andrew Dice Clay-Dice Knows When To Say When
Been home from vacation almost a week now...
We have been home for almost a week now, and the week absolutely flew by me. When I got home, I just unpacked and got everything organized again, and on Tuesday, both B.'s therapist and D.'s Head Start teacher came because neither could make on Wednesday, their normal day. We watched "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday night. They are down to only two people, Christina and Petrozza, and the competition is fierce. They are designing their restaraunts and menus and next week will be the season finale where they do their last service and find out who the winner will be. I can't wait!
The rest of the week was normal and boring. I got B.'s check on Wednesday and my own checks on Thursday, so we went out to Red Lobster on the former and to Johnny Rocket's and the movies on the latter.
We went to see "Wall-E" in the afternoon, since DH had only a half day today because of the holiday. It was a cute movie, but kind of lacking in plot and substance. The main character, Wall-E, a cute little robot who had a cockroach friend and who seemed to be the only being left on Earth since all the people are now in space, floating around in a ship mindlessly (and they are fat because they don't have to do anything for themselves anymore, including walking!) because Earth was just a pile of trash now. This little robot was in charge of cleaning up all the garbage on Earth and putting it into neat little squares and making buildings out of them. One day, though, this ship with all the humans on it sent out a probe to see if there was any sign of life on Earth yet. This was late in the 21st Century, around the year 2700 or so. The little robot, Wall-E, had found a green plant hidden inside junk, and kept it in an old shoe along with other treasures "he" had colllected from all the junk around "him" over the years. When Wall-E saw the probe, "he" fell in love with"her" and even though "she" was very brutal and task-oriented in the beginning, "she" became attatched to this little robot, whom "she" deemed to be not a threat. They discovered treasures together, and poor Wall-E was always getting bonked on the noggin or tripping and falling over something, being quite the klutz "he" is, and the probe, named "Eva" (said "EEEeee-vaa" by Wall-E) became quite fond of this little robot. Then Wall-E gives Eva the plant "he" had found and"she" gets all excited (as much as a robot can!) and takes it back to the ship, with Wall-E tagging along for the ride. That is the main objective: to find life, BUT the ship's Auto-Pilot (Otto) prevents the plant from reaching the captain, who is directed to go back to Earth if any signs of life are found. It turns out that the President of the US tells Otto that the Operation ReColonize is a bust and Earth is still uninhabitable and barren (though that message was transmitted in the year 2100, almost 700 years earlier!), so Otto is to just keep the people in space longer. These people had no minds of their own, and no bones since they no longer need to walk, but two of them get their "mind-control" devices off and see the ship for the first time, and meet Wall-E and Eva as they are trying to get the plant back from Otto to complete the mission. Eventually, Wall-E and Eva get the plant to the Lido deck and the mission is finally completed! They go back to Earth (Wall-E is crushed trying to get the plant into the right place) after Eva fixes Wall-E up a bit. Unfortunately, Wall-E doesn't recognize Eva or remember anything until a little later. The people see what a trash heap Earth is, but they start planting (the plant that was found by Wall-E in the beginning) and then the camera pulls out and you can see a whole lot of green starting to show up. It was cute, especially how inept poor Wall-E is and how "he" fell in love with the Eva, even though "she" didn't want anything to do with "him" at first.
Today, DH cleaned up a little and fixed a few things. He had already fixed the toilet, so now we can flush it again! It is really loud though, but at least it works now! I am just waiting now for DH and K. to get home from the store so I can start making dinner in another hour or so. I am making toasted cheese with tomatoes and then we are going out for Carvel after we eat for dessert.
I am still 132 lbs. as of this morning, and I hope to be down to 120 lbs. by the end of the summer, or sooner. If I can get down to that weight before Wayne's wedding (brother in law) on August 9th, I will be super happy!
I have to go now. I just heard B. and J. yell that PAPA IS HOME, so I have to unload groceries now and maybe play some Diner Dash or pool to distract myself until I make supper.
See you later!
~End.~
