Living in Savannah 2

I really hate not having internet access. We have dial up but its sooooo slow that next month we will be getting wireless. I found a company that would do it out in the country :) So I'm at the library right now while the kids are checking out books.

Mom is doing better, thanks for all the prayers. She said that her headaches are gone and her neck pain is now minimal. She sure did scare us!

I'm still waiting for my LPN license for Alabama to get here and its very frustrating. I did my part. Just waiting on GA to do their verification of my license, which they said they did and Alabama never recieved so I had to fax over another letter to GA stating it needs to be done. So will be calling both boards on Monday. It's been very nice to have time off but I do need to get back to work.

I've been busy on the house while Ben has been working. I've got the kitchen painted. Now I'm working on Justin's room and Caitlin's will be next. We need to redo what will be the den's ceiling and of course I still have boxes to unpack. I will take pics and post when we get decent internet access.

I'll try and get by everyone's journal soon. Hope you all are doing well!

Thanks for the prayers. Mom is doing a lot better and has been out of the hospital for a week now. Thankfully she did not have a fracture in her neck. She did have a concussion and is taking it easy. She went to her follow up doctors appt today and I will call her later tonight to see how that went.

Mom is in the hospital in Kansas. She fell coming in the door with groceries in her arms and hit her head really hard. She has a concussion and is having some neck pain. They did an MRI and that turned out fine. She had a CT scan done this morning for her neck. Please send her prayers...it looks like the kids and I will be headed that way this weekend.

Time is sure flying by! I'm still waiting on my alabama license to get here. The only thing now is that GA needs to do their verfication of my license and send to Alabama. I'm going to give them a call today to see what the hold up is.

Still trying to get the house all in order. It will take some time but its looking good :) We should have internet service next week. It has to be dial up :( since cable or dsl service isn't available in our area yet but should be soon. We got spoiled with cable internet,lol.

Gas here is 3.89. I know in a lot more places it's over 4.00 now.

We're going to have Ben's brother and family over here for the 4th with a bbq and fireworks. Looking forward to that.

Just wanted to let you all know that we made it safely. I'm using the computer at the library until we get our internet set up. I'm tired, but in a good way :) So much unpacking to do but its great knowing that this will be the last time! Ben has done a lot of work on the house, a lot more needs to be done, but it looks really good. Until next time....

Naturally when the temps zoom up and there is no end in sight and trying to move you get motivated to do something you normally would not do. Of course this has been a gradual process, as not to shock Ben too badly. Years ago I use to wear my hair REALLY short. About 6 years ago I decided to let it grow, my hair is thick and curly, and Ben loved it. Now with that said I was needing a change. Tired of always wearing it up and wanted something easy and fun. It was to about my bra strap and about a month ago I had 4 inches cut off. Well yesterday I had a tad bit more taken off and I love it :) You think Ben will notice on Thursday? lol

Friday ~ my last day at work. Dr. G wrote me the best recommendation letter and before he left for the day he gave me a personal note along with a hug. Even teared up a bit, which you never see him do! He told me that his practice will never be the same and if I ever need a job to call him. I do miss working with him. Everyone else in the office was crying when I left and they had taken some pics of them and the other doctors and made a little picture book for me. I thought that was very sweet.

Saturday ~ Caitlin turned 17! Hard to believe! She invited about 6 of her friends over and we had gumbo with fresh bread and red velvet cake. They all had a good time, spent the night and watched scary movies. Mom made us all pancakes for breakfast the next morning :)

Sunday ~ I took a nap,lol

Yesterday mom and I got busy packing. I had been packing stuff I knew we wouldn't be using now its time to get the rest done. We did Justin and most of Caitlin's. Today is the kitchen. Ben should be here Thursday evening. I really miss him!!

Tomorrow Justin graduates from the 5th grade. Time sure does fly by! They both get out of school on Friday.

Thank you all for the prayers and hugs on Matthew's birthday. Those days will always be bittersweet now.

Happy June 1st! I know it's not officially summer yet but it sure does feel like it outside here. This week will be another busy one. Along with it being my last week at work, I need to get ready for Caitlin's 17th bday party on Saturday. That will keep me busy, which is good. Matthew's 14th birthday is June 6...another day to get through. Yes Matthew and Caitlin were born a day apart, 3 years apart. Made for some interesting birthday parties,lol.

Well Justin and I need to get to the grocery store and then pick up Caitlin at her friends and then to the airport to get mom. Whew I need a rest from this weekend. We did manage to go see Indiana Jones yesterday and it was good. Personally not as good as the other Indy movies but I'm glad we seen it and Justin liked it.
