IS THE HEAT ON?

I went out to the mailbox this afternoon and it was so hot, that even with sunglasses on, I felt my eyeballs burning.

HOW hot was it, you ask?  It is 8:30 at night and it is 102 out. The official temperature is recorded at Phoenix, Sky Harbor airport and it was 110 degrees.  At MY house it was officially 115 degrees.

My brand new, state of the art air conditioner, was installed just in the neck of time. It was installed on Friday and it started heating up on Sunday. I have to learn the programmable thermostat, but so far, I'm good with it.  (Yes Suzy, I knew you said I could do it.)

I'm happy to report it is and has been a quiet, comfortable 75 degrees all day, inside my abode.

A girlfriend came over yesterday with her brand new mini cooper and I let her drive my smart car. Her car looks huge next to mine.  We had a great time.

In the meantime, take it away Frankie Laine...............Cool Water

All day I've faced a barren waste
Without the taste of water, cool water
Old Dan and I with throats burned dry
And souls that cry for water
Cool, clear, water

We had a short break but it's headed back towards "that" season again.

I've about had enough of this.

It sounds wonderful there :-). Yes, you can handle a programmable thermostat. The nice part is that if you get it right the first time, you never really need to touch it again!

Would you rather be here? We had frost warnings two nights this week!

Whew is right.  No matter what "they" say about "dry heat" it is still hot!  Last week it was in the triple digits here for most of the week, getting up to 103, pretty warm for this early in the year.  I thought when we moved here that we would have summers in the 80-90 territory.  Nope, most of the summer it is over 100, although there is a Delta breeze that comes through periodically  and cools things off.  In the high desert the summer temperatures were in the 110-118 range all of July and Aug, sometimes earlier and later as well.  Makes me yearn for the central coast again.  Glad you got the new air unit.  Keep cool.  Paulette

I've been interested in a Smart Car ever since I saw one in Italy 15 years ago.  How do you like yours?
