Hearing News
All Work and No Play
Where is the summer going? It's already the end of June. The weather has really been crazy here on the east coast. Alot of flooding the last couple of days. I'm lucky that we haven't had it that bad here, but PA and North Jersey weren't as lucky. There are floods up to stop signs. I am praying for them all.
I really haven't had the time or the desire to journal lately. Since my cuz (Strawberry Patch) has left J-Land, I've been a little bitter about this place. I am proud of her and she is doing fine for those 'true' friends that were concerned.
I'm still working full time while helping hubby with the business. I am very optimistic with how it's gonna work out. It's coming along very well. I was off yesterday and today and I'm relaxing today around the house. I still feel like I don't have enough time to do much on my days off. I bought a new computer yesterday and I was up all night getting everything set up and all my settings back to where I had them. I didn't goto bed till 4 am this morning.
Well, like I said, I got alot to do so I guess I better get to it.

Feeling Hopeful
Happy Father's Day
I just wanted to wish all my J-Land Father's and friends Father's a Happy Father's Day. As some of you may know, I lost my father in April so today was not a very happy day for my siblings and I. I just wanted to tell you all a little bit about the man that was my Father.
My Father was a proud, family man. He always taught us that family was the number one thing. He didn't like anyone messing with his family. He made sure no matter what, we always stuck together. I remember when I was a teenager and just started dating, I did what most teenagers do and started to make other things priority above my family. I was suppose to come home and help decorate the tree for Christmas which we always did together and stayed out a little longer than I should have. When I got home, my Father acted very disappointed in me. THAT was the one thing that I always tried not to do. He told me that what ever comes up or happens, NEVER forget about your family. It broke my heart to see him upset and I vowed to never disappoint him again. We came from nothing, and all he asked of us, was to be the best that we could be. Whatever it is that we do, do it to the best of our ability. I remember another time when I had my first job. It was the 80's and I wanted a leather jacket with fringes like Bon Jovi's. LOL When I got enough money to buy it, I wanted to quit my job. My father didn't like the idea and that's all that I needed to know. I stuck with it and I believe that's the reason I have such a strong work ethic to this day.
The day I went to see my father in the hospital before he passed, I spoke to him and told him what I needed to. He wasn't conscious, but I know he heard me. I told him that he is the reason I am what I am today. I know I've made him proud. Even though he's gone, I will continue to live my life making him proud.
I Love You Daddy and Happy Father's Day! :-)

Congratulations!

Yesterday my youngest sister graduated high school! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I am so proud of her. She had a rough 4 years and there were times when we didn't think she would graduate, but this last year she really pulled it together. We brought her ballons and flowers to the ceremony. She was so excited to see us all there. We brought nieces, nephews, brother in laws, sister in laws and all her brothers and sisters were there. I am 14 years older than my youngest sister, so I feel very motherly to her. Afterwards I dropped her off at her friends house for a party and asked her all the questions when she got out. "Do you have your phone? Do you have money? Are you dressed warm? How are you getting home?" and I told her if she gets in a scary, unsafe situation, to remove herself and call one of us. That's what we are here for. She called me 5 minutes later to tell me she forgot her ticket and school I.D. at home and was upset about it thinking I wouldn't be able to bring it too her. I wasn't too far away so I told her not to worry. I would bring it to her. I just worry about her alot, and you always hear about tragedies at high school graduation parties or rides home from one. They had a little festival at the school from 11pm till 5am for all the seniors that graduated to keep them from being out all night somewhere else. I think that was a great idea.
I called her this morning to see if she had a good time and she said she did and she won an umbrella? LOL OK!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2006!

The Party's Over!
Well, Vacation is over and I'm back to work. Boy they don't last like they use to. I got alot done though and enjoyed myself so I guess that's all that matters. We went to Brigantine one day cause my husband's brother lives there. The beaches there are so clean and beautiful. They don't have all the hoopla they have at other jersey shores. No boardwalk or casinos or things like that. Just beautiful beach. We also went and played miniture golf, which I love. I haven't gone in awhile so I was excited to go lol. Of course I won :-).
Hubby worked most of the time with the business. When you have your own business, you never have off. One of the owners of a place we do the windows for called the other day to say that she is going to put an ad in a directory for us. She owns a self storage place and they have a directory they give to customers and we are going to be the only window washing company on it. I thought that was so nice of her. She said she is also on the Chamber of Commerce so she has contacts too. Also, a guy that my husband use to work with before he got laid off called and said that he started his own window washing business too and he has too much work and can't do it himself. So he asked my husband if he could help him and he would pay him $15 hr. My husband went out with him one day and they worked 10 hours. They talked and decided whenever he needs help, my husband will help him while we are still getting started. Once we get more work, he will have to decide if he has the time to help him. One good thing is that this guy only does work in another state, not in ours, so we don't have to worry about taking each others work. Also, if we get calls for work in his state, we can refer them to him and he said he would do the same for us. My prayer is for us to just get enough work to make a nice living and hope to be able to get family members involved and make a nice little family business. A little hard work and prayer will make this happen. :-)

Vacation!
Today officially starts my vacation. I was off yesterday, but that was just the end of the week. It started off great though. I was up late saturday night so I slept till 11:30. That NEVER happens. I probably would've slept longer but hubby woke me up with breakfast. Scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, toasted english muffin and a glass of milk. MMMM! It was delicious. Than I hung out with my Cuz online most of the day. It was such a relaxing do nothing day for me and I loved every minute of it. I'm gonna spend a couple days working with hubby for the business. We are gonna take one day and go to Cape May. Wednesday I am going out to lunch with my Mom. I think we are going to the Chinese Buffet. That is a dangerous place for me LOL. I lose all control in that place. Well, I'll let you all know how it's going through the week.
Take Care! :-)

Birthday List!
I have always used this site to keep track of dates, birthdays and anniversaries for me, so I thought I would post the link here to update it with some of my new friends. Once you fill out the info, you can post your own link for others to add their birthday to your list. Lets see how big of a list we can get going. :-)

Anniversary!
Yesterday, May31st. is our anniversary of when we first went out. We have been together for 13 years. What a long time lol.. We have been through alot of ups and downs, but that's what makes a strong relationship. We celebrated our wedding anniversary on May 28th with the BBQ, so I didn't make much of a fuss over our dating anniversary, which is a milestone in its own. But when I got home from work at 11 last night and was getting ready for bed, my hubby handed me a card. I didn't think he remembered. He also bought me two scratch off lottery tickets, which I love. lol I won $30. Lunch is on me today. lol Well, on to our 14th year. :-)
I Love You Hunny!
