The Journal Jar Questions 1 thru 17
I found this journal through nicurnmama and thought I would particpate in the questions. It's called The Journal Jar.
Question #1:
Describe your first job. What did it pay? What were your duties? What was your boss like?
My first job was volunteering at the hospital. It payed nothing but it was fun. We would get calls to do errands for doctors or nurses. It wasn't that bad. My first real paying job was working at Knott's Berry Farm. It payed dirt no just kidding, it payed 6.00/hr for girls and 6.50 for men. Can you believe that. I didn't even know that until my husband (my boyfriend at the time) told me how much he got payed then I told him how much I got payed. I then went around asking different people what they got payed and it was true women got payed less then men. That's why I quit those idiots.
Question #2
What games did you play in your house or neighborhood?
My sisters and I would play salon and really cut each others hair. My step-dad was not pleased with that. Or if i was at my grandma's cabin my cousin and I would play adventurers. Sort of like Steve Erwin just not so crazy.
Question #3
If you could be a flower, what would you be and why?
I would be a Calla Lily. they are just so beautiful. That is also my wedding flower. They are so different then any flower I have seen.
Question #4
Between the age of 5 & 10, what was your favorite activity?
I guess that would be playing with my barbies and different dolls. I was spoiled by my dad so he would practically buy me anything I wanted. I was his only daughter so I had this three story barbie house with furniture and everything.
Question #5
Did you belong to girl/boy scouts? Tell something about that?
I was in Girl Scouts. I was a brownie and a Junior. I loved it so much. I had a lot of fun participating in activities and being in parades. I thought I was so important when I wore my uniform. But the one thing I didn't like about it was the dues we had to pay. I would feel so embarassed going into out meeting and not being able to pay the membership dues. I was the only girl there that didn't pay or I would pay it whenever my step-dad or mom would get payed. I would like to put Cayla in girl scouts and I would make a promise that she would always have her dues and never have to feel embarrased.
Question # 6
Did you have a roommate? What was that person like? What did you learn about living with other people besides your own family?
Well if you consider living with my husband for the first time then it was definetly weird. I had to get used to the way he sleeps at night. He snores but it's not too bad I'm actually used to it now. He also loves to sleep with the window open even during winter! We compromised with that one. He may have it open for 2 hours then he must close it for the rest of the night. There were certainly new stuff to adjust to.
Question #7
What is your favorite thing to do when you are alone in your home?
Play my kind of CD's really loud and not get yelled at because it too loud. Watch TV and actually watch what I want to watch. Or just watch my Britney Spears DVD's. Nobody here likes her so they don't let me watch them.
Question #8
What are your dreams, hopes and expectations for your children?
I want them to experience life. I want them to live there life the way they want to and not let anyone control there every move. I want them to go to college and have a career and be successful. I want them to meet a wonderful partner whom they can share there thoughts and emotions with and for them to be their best friends. I especially want them to go to their Prom. I never went to mine and I regret it so much. That is another story. Basically I want to be happy with there lives and not regret anything they have done or not done.
Question #9
Do you speak any other languages? What are they? Have you ever taken classes to try to learn another language?
I don't speak any other language I have tried to learn Spanish but it's just not happening for me. I just can't get the hang of it. What sucks about that it my Mother in law only speaks spanish and all of my husbands aunts and uncles. The only people in his family that also speak english are his Father, brother and sister. So I'm trying to learn spanish.
Question # 10
Did it snow where you grew up? What did you do in the snow?
No it didn't snow where I grew up. I grew up in California and I'm still here. I would go to the mountains where there would be weak snow and make little teeny tiny snowmen and throw snowflakes instead of snowballs.
Question #11
Who taught you to drive a car?
My husband did. He was so nervous. I remember the first time he took me out driving. He was getting so mad at me for something I can't remember but he was yelling at me and I was getting so nervous so I stopped the car (didn't even put in in park) in the middle of the street, got out and walked home. I remember looking back at the car and seeing him getting all hysterical trying to climb into the driver's seat and put it in park because the car was still moving. That was so funny. Now we can laugh at it but when he got home he was not a happy camper hehehehe.
Question #12
What kind of sports did you play when you were young? What was your favorite sport? What IS your favorite sport now? (playing or watching).
I played Basketball when I was in 7th and 8th grade. I played forward and was pretty good. My coach liked me and I usually played the whole game. When I was in high school I was on the Flag team. I don't know if anyone knows what that is but we performed during half time at all the football games and competed in tournaments. I remember my first time performing I was so nervous I thought I was going to throw up but after I was filled with adrenaline that I wanted to go back out there and do it again. I always say now that shopping is my favorite sport. I kinda don't like to watch them on TV but rather go and watch it live.
Question #13
Do you remember any special events that took place in your Neighborhood while you were growing up? (deaths, fires, accidents etc)?
I remember the Whittier Narrows earthquake that hit when I was in the 6th grade. A lot of house were destroyed and school was cancelled for a week. The earthquake was 6.7 and of course I am such a deep sleeper I slept through it. I only woke up when my step-dad came and scared the shinza out of me and said get up and go to the door! But other than that nothing really happpened in Whittier.
Question #14
Are there any family heirlooms in your possession? Tell about them and how you acquired them.
I have no family heirlooms yet. My great grandparents are still alive and so are my grandparents so they haven't gave out anything yet. And I don't plan on getting anything because they are going to live forever. One thing that was left to me and my cousin Jackie by my grandma in her will was her cabin but unfortunetly the cabin was burned down 2 years ago. All of our memories were lost there.
Question #15
What church jobs have your parents had? What do you remember about your parents and church?
My parents didn't have church jobs but I sang in the church choir. I remember getting all dressed up with pretty dresses and going to church every sundayuntil my step-dad and mom divorced then after that I don't remember going to church so often.
Question # 16
Did you have a childhood "hangout" or "hideout"? Describe it.
I guess you can say my room or a friends house. I wasn't really allowed to go out only to friends houses. I had my own room for I think a year when I was fourteen then I had to share a room with my sister Lauren because my mom had another baby and my little sister adri now shared a room with him. I would just be in my room listening to music and writing. I would write a lot just stories or poems I never showed anyone what I wrote. I would just write keep it for a couple of weeks then throw them away. Now I wish I would have kept them so I can see what I wrote about.
Question #17
Do you like picnics? Have you been on any picnics that stick out in your mind?
Yes I love picnics. The only picnic that comes to mind is one with my ex. He took me to Creek Park and we just stood there listening to the creek, we didn't have any food just soda so we just drank soda. It was cute.
I thought I would do all the questions that they put up. There were a lot of them. They put a question up daily so now I will have an entry everyday.
