Feeling Chillin'

The Peep Is attacking me.

Monday I went to Target and was Easter Shopping for basket stuff to give out. Anyhoo Chris and Cayla seen this gigantic Peep and both were fighting for it.

Preview

Cayla had the pink one and Chris had the Yellow one. But as we were going throught the checkout I snuck one of those Peeps out of the shopping cart without them seeing. (hehehe sneaky sneaky) I tried to sneak both of them out but was caught on the second one. darn it. Oh well. I actually didn't spend a lot on Easter baskets this year. At Target they have this whole Peep line of easter stuff so I bought a 3 Peep baskets for 3.88 each not bad I think since all the other baskets they had there were 7.99 and up. (geez it's just a basket) I got one for Baby Evan(a yellow bunny peep) and my two babies(Cayla- a pink Peep and Chris-a blue Peep). I filled up Chris' with stickers and candy and little toys I got at the dollar section at Target. Then for the two little babies I filled theirs with baby toys and a bean bag Peep (which are so cute).

Preview(the little peep is the bean bag one and of course you know the big one)

They baskets came out good. I like them very simple yet adorable. I didn't want to do something extravagent since the kids are still little. Oh and I didn't fill the baskets up with that grass. I always hated that grass. It looks like there is a lot of stuff in there but it's only grass. And it always gets all over the place. Too messy. I think my husband almost cried at Target when I told him I wasn't going to put grass (ok he wasn't but he got sad) He said the grass is a part of easter and we should put grass in the baskets but no. I am not putting that grass in the baskets. It's just a waste of money and a waste of space. I told him next year if he puts the baskets together then he can put the grass in but since I am putting it together I get to decided what goes in there. I think that's fair. Man I am just going off on this grass thing. geez Ok back to the baskets. They are so cute. I love them. Here is a picture of them all done. Aren't they cute?

Sorry about the pics being blurry but I had to resize them because theywere too big to fit on this page.

Oh and a little funny thing happened too when I bought the baskets. My BIL was there Joe when we were buying the stuff and he got so excited about the big peep too because he thought he can EAT it. You should of seen his face when I told him it was a toy. But I told him if he wants a big Peep just put a regular one in the Microwave for about 10-15 seconds and it grows big. It really does work. Chris likes it when I do that. Try it. it's neat when it grows.

Must admit. I, too, thought you could eat them. But I was thinking "OMG! That's huge! How could anyone eat that much sugar?" Oh, and I put a peep in the microwave and it melted but didn't expand. Oh, well. It's still cool!
Vickey (who will be darned sugar high by the end of the day!)

Well I must admit that before I read all the way down I was right there with your BIL... I thought to myself..."Self, gotta get my bike out and take a road trip to Target and get one of those humungous peeps... man oh man that would feed my family in marshmallow gunk for a week. I wonder dear ol self how much marshmallow is in that bugger."
But alas, it is not the marshmallow type. *sigh*. With ya on the Easter grass waste of money and resources. We bought some maybe 20 years ago and just keep reusing the same stuff... lordy but we are thrifty. Every year a little less but it works.

    Happy moving.
