Las Juntas Artists Summer Headlines
Welcome to the Summer time newsroom
As usual the summer time give all of us, and specially our overworked President and Newletter Editor a much deserved time off. The newsletter will be on hiatus for the next two months, until September. Also there will be no meetings until September.
Watch this spot for any notices pertaining to us. I will be adding stuff as I receive it from time to time. As always, let me know if you have any items of interest, I would be glad to receive them and post them.

Deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

| Plan to attend Reuse Plan Workshop August 2 |
|
Balancing the Alternatives Saturday, August 2 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon Concord Senior Center 2727 Parkside Circle
Through a series of community workshops, seven proposed alternative land use plans have been prepared for the 5,028-acre Concord Naval Weapons Station site in north Concord. This workshop will focus on balancing the differences among the alternatives.
Working in a small group, you and your neighbors will discuss the concepts reflected in the alternatives: “Connected Villages” and “Concentration + Conservation,” and identify the features of these concepts that work and that don’t work. The workshop will end with each group reporting back about the choices they made and the reasons for their selections.
Save the date for September 13 Workshop
The Building Consensus Workshop on Saturday, September 13 will ask participants to discuss methods of prioritizing the alternatives to meet the goals and guiding principles established for the project.
After receiving input from the public at the summer workshops, the Community Advisory Committee will discuss prioritizing the alternatives and subsequently send its recommendation to the City Council. The City Council is scheduled to designate a preferred alternative in January or February 2009. An adopted reuse plan and certified EIR is projected for late spring 2009.
For more information, contact the project office, (925) 671-3001.
To confirm your attendance at the workshop, please register online at www.concordreuseproject.org/register

The DEIR addresses the seven alternative concepts for reuse of the 5,028 acre site that is part of the former Inland Area of the Concord Naval Weapons Station.
The document can be reviewed at the Concord Community Reuse Project Office at Concord Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Dr., at libraries in Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Pittsburg, or on the Web at www.concordreuseproject.org.
