Happy 45th to ME!

The First Day of Summer is my B-Day. I love it! This year was so much fun! The day before, hubby said he wanted to make sure my car was tuned up just right (even though I just got it - dah) and they needed it in the morning. I never thought a thing of it. We hung out in the bright sunshine most of the day and took our time before we picked it up. When we got there, they had this huge b-day balloon on my car and hubby surprised me with Chrome Rims for my new car. LOVE LOVE LOVE chrome rims. What a great surprise. :) Had I known I would have went earlier. LOL. :)

Late afternoon we went to the park down the street and they had a weekend long festival with live music, food rides etc.

Sat. (my b-day) we went to the Milwaukee County ZOO! Yet another thing I love. All day in the beautiful sunshine. Brings back one of my few childhood memories. I took alot of pictures of the exotic animals. The gorilla was so cute. (Samson was the Gorilla that was there when I was a child) He did pass away and I heard they stuffed him and he is in a museum. Hmmmm....
We then went to a place on the water and ate outdoors. When we returned home after a full day we had ice cream cake from DQ and just enjoyed some more quality family time. The kids got me some very thoughtful presents too.

What a great B-Day I had thanks to my wonderful family.

Rain and more Rain....Kidz too :)

TY to Debbie @
Deb's Dab's  for the cute tag.

The past two weeks have been nothing but Rain, Thunder and Lightning, but last nights storm topped everything.  It was a strong storm.  A tornado touched downtown.  The were Flash Flood Warnings (not watches)  Out lights went out but only for a short time.  It was scrarrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!  Our home was built in 2000 and my bathroom ceiling fan, started to get soaked and the paint blistered.  That's how hard it rained.

Freedom Isn't Free Kit & Template-Kims Scrappin ; Glitter Brush-Stephanie Shimerella

The above Layout is of Krista with a couple of random pictures I took.

Today we went to get my daughters pictures taken with her Cap and Gown on from the same photographer that did her senior portraits.  It was a free session that went with the package.  Of course I ended up buying more and more and more.  My favorite was a 5X7 in a frame with her tossle hanging on the side.  The frame was made just for this purpose.  So pretty.

Joey gets his Senior portraits taken in July.  That will be fun with him.  He's such a happy kid.

Tomorrow Joey takes another ACT Test.  I already have his pencils sharpened and new batteries in his (very complicated) calculator along with the admission ticket on the counter.  Yep, that's what I do for Joey.  Shouldn't, but I do.  I would wonder if he forgot something and if he did that would be a waste of money spent on the test.

It feels kind of weird that we are here at our home and not on our boat.  Since 1998 we have spent every summer on the boat traveling around.  Although I've been busy enough, I feel lost in some way.  The boat is still for sale and more people are interested in it in the past couple of weeks than ever before.   We shall see.

Yep, that's Dave washing his car.  Memorial Day was the last nice day I can remember.  Just to get outside and do something in the fresh air (since it is summer)  would be nice.  Maybe July huh?  I made a Freebie Quick Page of Car Wash.
You can get it

Paper-SDK May Collab (used as overlay); Butterflies-Scrapaholics Designs;Flowers -Cens Stuff; Leaf Brush-Robert Redwood;Frames-PSE6

I did the Layout above for a challenge to scrap an animal or pet.  I actually got an e-mail from the owner of the site saying she loved it.  WOW!  I was in awe when I read that one.  honored for sure.

Graduation Pics

My Baby Girl Graduated with Honors!

Here's just a couple of pics to show her off!

Our daughter graduated with honors and we couldn't be more proud.  I attribute this proud moment to good parenting and alot of praise, communication and trust.  Always being there for our kids is alot of hard work, but this moment is the payoff.

 Showing off her DIPLOMA!

She got a Limited Edition Laptop and American Express Credit Cards (Un-disclosed amount ....um hum)  We also have her apartment at college paid through next Dec. A couple other odds and ends too.  Put it this way, she is one happy girl on her way to college!

Woo Hoo!

My daughter graduates with honors tomorrow night.  We are also celebrating a wonderful academic yr my son had.  I couldn't be more proud.  Can't believe that my kids are at this age already.  I'm happy and sad at the same time.

I haven't been doing as much Digi Scrapping as usual, but last night I came up with this:

Kidz

Made by Chris @ Cab's Creations

The rain last night was extreme and really hard and loud. Today is overcast and warm.

Yesterday 2 things happened with my son that I loved.  He actually came home for lunch which we planned so we could start his poster board project.  I had it all prepared for him and then we had time to start.  After school, he had work and after that we did the project together.  It felt so good to do this project with him.  My little baby forever.  So nice and compassionate.  So sweet and yet, so cool.  He's mine and I am so proud of that.  Anyway.......it was a great day with him yesterday.  Love my baby.

My daughter is visiting her college for orientation.  Last night there was a Pep Rally.  She also signed up for her classes and toured the campus.  I pick her up Sat. night.  I can't believe she is so far away in the is big world all by herself and creating her own path.  She met some new friends and also met her new roommates.  She will be living in a 4 Bdrm 2 Bath apt. with a pool and Internet and workout room etc. and only 1 mile from school.   What a find this was.   She did get a taste of the dorms because they had to stay there for the orientation.  Kind of small, so the apt was a great decision.  I miss my baby girl.  This is going to be hard, but I know I have to be strong for her.

The Movie "Sex and the City"  starts today. I hope we'll have time after all our errands to go.  We'll see.

Have to schedule my sons session for senior portraits for sometime in July.  We decided he will get a couple with his car in the fields and also some with his snowboard.  One or two with his school bowling shirt holding up his ball like he's bowling and also one or two with his DECA blazer on.  That's his main passion is that he is a DECA Officer. So, we'll probably need about 1 1/2 hrs. for this session. Last yr. with Krista is was so much fun creating the looks.  Joey and I are looking forward to this.  Can't wait to see how they turn out.  He will probably get them right before school start next yr.  Krista has a whole hallway dedicated to her framed photos and collages.  Joey calls it a shrine.  Now he can have a shrine too.  I told him his time owuld come.  :)

Indy 500 - Graham Rahal & Me

This is Graham Rahal #06 , Bobby Rahals son. He's 19 and O-So-Cute and extremely nice.

Wish my daughter would have been there. Not just because he's a driver, but because of his age and how polite and nice he is. Well mannered too. Hope she finds someone with these qualities when she is ready.

OK, OK, I'm done with the pics of me for awhile. Yesterdays post and today's had ME in the pics. That's enough already. I know! :)

Life is treating us good here in the Midwest. The weather is just hitting the 70's this week.  We're a little behind, but we're getting there.  77 next Sunday at the Miller 200 in Milw.  WI.  Looking forward to that.  :)

Indy 500 and Julianne Huff

D's Designs makes her photos look so cute with the simpliest effects.  I tried to make one like Donna. Not quite the same........but you get the point.

We went to the Indy 500 for Memorial Day weekend. I met Julianne Huff from "Dancing with the Stars". It was quite exciting.

The day before the big race was a parade and it was the best ever! I never knew I was "StarStruck", but now I know I am. The stars really amazed me. They are just as beautiful in person. Geeze, how can that be?

Early this morning I brought my daughter to the airport. She is going to visit her college for a 3 day orientation and meet her roommates. This is the first time she traveled by herself and she handled it well. She made it safe and sound with not airline interruption's. Thank god.

Someone rear -ended the back of my car (while we were in a traffic jam) I was so sad. Its not that bad, but I know it's there and I just can't leave it like that. Tomorrow we'll have to get estimates. Argh! Always something!

Anyway, the little weekend with hubby (and NOOOOOOO kids) was so perfect! Love my babies, but just needed some time. They are 18 and 17 and need me now more than ever.

Next weekend we are gong to the Miller 200 in Milwaukee, WI. Yep, just me and hubby again, but only for the day cuz it's so close

I have plenty of pics from this past weekend. They will be showing up in some LO's in the next couple of weeks.

Kidz,Kidz and Kidz

New Spring - Jessica Erickson

That is my daughter in this LO. She has been the subject of most of my LO's. She will be off to College at the end of summer. We are inseparable and I will miss her so much. She is off to start her new life. I have so many pictures of my her and my boys. I can send her my LO's which I'm sure she will appreciate. Memories are a beautiful thing!

Tomorrow is Prom.  Joey & Krista are both going.  Their dates are just their friends.  They aren't dating and haven't had one specific other in a couple months.  Krista is so busy and focused on college and finishing up her senior year there is no time.  That along with her part time job.  Joey finds someone and then feels trapped/bored.  He's more into ....where's the party?  :/  That and his part time job.  His dad tells him he's saving tons of money this way.  He likes the sound of that.

Joey is still focused on a motorcycle.  A three day course at the end of May will make this official.  He fulfilled his responsibility of learning all he can about the rules of riding a cycle.  SIGH!  I never thought that all of this would all happen so fast.

Graduation tickets came in the mail today.  Now comes all the prep work.  New dress and shoes for Krista.  Her cap and gown are white (Red and white tassel) We have to get something that won't show through.  I'm really looking forward to this.  I never got to go to my graduation.  My parents (Don't know if they are dead or alive) were just not interested.  I always dreamed of the perfect little family after the neglect as I grew up, I made " The Perfect Little Family"

Template-Laura B Mundy; Fold-Theresa Kavoures; Papers and Flowers- April Collab Kit at SDK. June Schutrups and LorieM Designs

After my daughter graduates, I have to get my sons senior pictures taken.  Haven't scheduled just yet, but know that it will be a whole lot less work than my daughters outfit changes and themes she had lined up.  I have to say it was a great time that day and I will always remember that by the most beautiful photos I have ever seen.  Joey will be maybe one shirt change and something with his Snow Board and his Car. Possibly his new motorcycle if he has it by then.

Below is a random Layout of me and hubby.

It's snowing.....AGAIN!

After a Thunderstorm of a Weekend with Wind Gusts to 60 MPH, this morning we awoke to snowflakes as big as my fist.  The grass is barely showing.  ARGH!

I haven't been in J-Land or my Digi Scrapbook place on Blogger for awhile.  My life is in a whirlwind and needed to concentrate on family and just daily life.

We had a huge Neighborhood Garage Sale.  My first time and it was a HUGE Success for me.  Cha Ching all the way to the bank.  I couldn't beleive the things that sold.  I had a great time, but I don't think I want to have another one anytime soon.

My son is at the DECA Nationals in Atlanta this week.  It sounds like he's having a great time.

My daughter just got the letter in the mail saying that she is graduating with Honors.  She worked so hard this year having 3 college classes.  She has taken college courses throughout so her transcripts look good.  She is going to college with 15 credits before she even starts.  Her College is secure, her apartment and roommates are in place and it's all looking good from here.  WE are inseperable and it's going to be hard for me to leave when I drop her off.  I have a heavy feeling in my heart jus thinking about it.

I got a new car.  Hubby and I turned in our SUVS and I drive this and he drives our Red Corvette.  Now it just has to stop snowing.

I made a new Digi Kit Freebie with the corkboard I made.  The kit includes:
Corkboard-Frame-2 Ribbons-3 Word Art-4 Elements-6 Tacs.

Tropical Corkboard Kit FREEBIE HERE

This Layout is from another kit I made called "Retro Coffee"

Here is the Full kit:

I've Been Tagged

I got this from this from Terri @ You Think you know but you have no Idea.

Guess what ~ TAG! Your It! ;) If you were already tagged I apologize and you are still my pick. Just pick five others again as it gives an opportunity to visit new journals we might not have ever visited and also find out more about each other.

Rules

1. Each player answers questions about themselves.

2. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people, and posts their names, goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know they've been tagged.

Questions

1. WHAT WHERE YOU DOING TEN YEARS AGO: I met my Darling hubby.  This July will be 10 yrs together and 9 yrs married.

2. WHAT ARE 5 THINGS ON MY TO-DO  LIST Today: P/U my new car, grocery shop, laundry, set up rummage sale, clean out winter closet for sale.

3. SNACKS I ENJOY: Cheetos, HoHos, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

4. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE A BILLIONAIRE? Move to a VERY Warm Sunny State, buy a yacht and travel all over the Bahamas, The Carribean and anywhere exotic.  Use the money to help the families that lost their jobs (Lot of that going around) and help the homeless (lot of that too)  and I would feed the hungry. This would be helping people in the US, not AFRICA or any other Foreign Country.  I would help the people in my own country.

 5. BAD HABITS: I "Need" coffee in the Mornings

6. 5 PLACES I HAVE LIVED: Wisconsin (so far) BLAH!

7. 5 JOBS I'VE HAD: Day Care Teacher, Bartender, Local Government Insurance Agent, Housewife (yes, it is a full time job)

5 people I want to know about: Okay, here are the five I picked!  If you've already been picked, Sorry. Just pass it on and pick other people. To those of you who don't know of these journals, please stop by and say hello -
