Now that Fall is officially here, my ritualistic problem as arrived as well.  Dry and cracked feet and hands.  I have searched over and over for a product that will help and is strong.  Here's where I'm looking for help.  If any of you can recomend something that I can try....please do!

    Hello, I'm Jami, I found your J from Sharon.  I have my own J but I haven't posted in a while  http://journals.aol.com/mamaof4qts/my-crazy-hectic-life/
I have 4 kids and I'm married 8 years.  I like you K a lot.  I'm an LPN and I use vasoline intensive care advanced healing lotion.  I have a bottle at my computer desk in both bathrooms and my work bag and pocket book...lol.  I put it on all the time this time of year.  Although I like the crisco idea...LOL apply to hands and feet bake under covers for 8 hours.

It sounds crazy, but two of my doctors have suggested CRISCO.  I have used it in the winter for the past two years with great results.  Wash and dry feet/hands, apply the crisco and socks over your feet before bed.  (I have ruined many a socks by walking around in the socks I wore while doing the treatment - so remember to take them off in the morning before walking all over the house.)  Truly sounds crazy, but it works better than vaseline.  ~~Kath~~

I've always found that petroleum jelly (Vaseline) is one of the best things for dry skin.  It's cheap, needs no prescription, and is readily available most everywhere, even your local grocer probably has some on the shelf in the baby section.

All you have to do is bathe your feet at night, dry well, especially between those toes, then apply a thin coat to your feet.
Cover with clean socks, preferably white cotton.

You can do the same for your hands, except use a thin pair of clean  gloves (of course). Try it for a couple of weeks.  You might be surprised at the results.

For those that wash their hands a lot, like nurses and moms, there's a product called gloves in a bottle...
