Hey gang,  here is the latest and greatest!

1.  Game industry historian believes that Nintendo's Wii will be the big winner this Christmas.  Oh really?  Hmm lets think about it... It's cheaper,  it's new and they have plenty of them.  Sounds like a recipe for success to me!  My personal opinion is that it just seems cool!  We've all be holding on to those 400 button controllers  for years,  the innovative controls would be enough for me to give it shot! However,  coupled with the prise point and availability,  I think its a slam dunk!  I'm in!

2.  Reported on every blog on the planet, is the fact that the highly anticipated Battlefield 2142 has some spyware attached to it.  Not cool.  Sure, companies have the right to put the stuff in there,  but there is just too much danger in that information getting out.  It should be volantary and people should choose wether they want to participate. Could just be a sign of the future,  (well it is, but...) advertising in games is definitely here to stay.

3.  In controller news,  backing up the fact that the Wii is cool,  is the that the PS3 controller is lame.  So says Joystiq via IGN.  Well,  considering how the production of the PS3 has gone,  I am sure that Sony simply didn't have time to think that hard about the controller.

4.  Not to tout one over the other,  but news is news. Toy R Us is slated to start pre-orders for Nintendo Wii.   Nintendo seems to have their ducks in a row,  making sure they get their platform out there.  Its going to be an interesting January to see where the numbers end up.

5.  EA is charging for cheats starting on Tiger Woods 07  You'll still be able to go through the old fashioned way and unlock things,  but if you are lazy you can buy your way through.  Just another sign that micro-transations are a viable revenue stream.  You'll see it more and more I think. 

6.  Rockstar's Bully comes out today,  and it wouldn't be Rockstar without controversy.  We see here that a British retailer will not stock Bully  The quotes about the game are hilarious.  Its been this way forever,  people always focus on the products that society produces rather than WHY we produce them. A debate for another time I suppose.
