No Sacrifice Is Too Great
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace” (Acts 20:24, NIV).
“The Christian commitment is like a race. There are fresh eager faces as the gun sounds to begin the race, but along the grueling route, one person after another drops out before finishing. What about you? Are you willing to serve him wholeheartedly so that the Gospel may be taken around the whole world? Are you willing to bring all of your energies to bear for the sake of Christ? You have a variety of gifts and talents that could change the world if put into the hands of Christ. You may have youth, health, energy, education, political freedom and economic opportunities. Along with those gifts, you possess the Lord Jesus Christ. If you do not seriously face God’s call for you, I want to tell you that it is a terrible tragedy. Scripture says that time is short. God has given us an open door, and He has given us the tools and the technology to touch the whole world if we mean business.”

“Loyalty to Christ, His Word, and His Church are inseparable. The Scriptures declare it. Examples in history confirm it. God's purposes in the world demand it. Such loyalty begins with an irrevocable commitment and a surrender to the claims of our sovereign Lord. This is necessary to becoming a loyal follower of Jesus Christ. To virtually everyone He called to discipleship, Jesus said, ‘Follow me’ (Mark 1:17, NIV)—a decisive act of the will to commit oneself in total loyalty. This commitment must be based on the knowledge of who He is. He is Creator. He is Savior. He is coming King. He is worthy of our life, our love, our loyalty, because He is Lord! Perhaps our love is lukewarm, our obedience partial, our loyalty faltering because of our shallow appreciation of who calls us to follow Him. C. T. Studd, the heroic pioneer missionary to Africa, declared, ‘If Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice is too great for me to make for Him!’” (Donald E. Hoke).
Lord, thank You for Your great faithfulness to us! Help us to be faithful to You and to accomplishing Your will in our lives, because You are worthy of our worship and devotion. May we use every opportunity and gift at our disposal to further Your kingdom on earth. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
