How fragile its balance, how pristine its shine
the clean drop of water that dangles in light
and how with a freeze it plays stalactite
to shatter on contact as freeefalls its bright

To be guarded from passion that would make it just melt
to be guarded from windblows that would lose where it dwelt

And the clear drop of water that is warmed in my heart
and in perilous teeter awaits and bides time
will soon lose its hold and fall while it frights
