A Nice Fall Day...

Today has been a very nice fall day in the Pacific North West! It was in the high 60’s and very pleasant today.

I have had Debbie and her daughter, Melissa and family in my thoughts and prayers since yesterday when I called and talked to Debbie about Melissa’s attack. I can’t even imagine how upset Debbie is about this. I know if it were me I would be afraid of doing something that I would regret later. I am very proud of Debbie for keeping a very level head about this. If you haven’t heard or seen what I am talking about, then head over to Debbie’s page and read about it.

We did some picking up around the house. I had the kids help me. I always think it is funny that they walk by the garbage can several times a day in the kitchen and they will step over garbage that has fallen to the floor since it is so full. Rather than stop and pick it up and put a new bag in and take the full one out they step over it!! Now, what is that all about? That’s not the only thing they don’t see. They take their dirty socks off and rather than put them in the dirty clothes hamper 10 feet away they kick them off wherever they are sitting. And you don’t know how many times a day I will trip over shoes! I have told them a zillion times to take them off when they come in the door and go in their socks so that the carpet stays clean. But NO! It’s not just the kids either. Bo is just as bad as the kids are.

Around 4 pm I went out side on the back deck and took a few pictures. There right before my eyes was a great big hot air balloon. What a pretty site!

I have had a few questions asked about what medicines I take for my arthritis. The first one they started me on was called Vioxx. I have heard that Vioxx is now being sued. It seems that it caused some major problems with some people. They took me off of that and started me on Celebrex. When that didn’t work I was then put on Arava. I am still on that but rather than take it every day I now take it every other day. It was making my hair fall out like crazy. But now that I take it every other day my hair has stopped falling out. About a month ago my arthritis doctor started me on Enbrel injections. I give myself 2 shots a week with this medicine. So far I don’t know if this is going to help me or not since I have only been giving myself the injections for less than a month. I also take high doses of Prednisone and have been taking that for a few years now for my arthritis. The doctors have to take blood from me quite regularly to check for different things that the meds could be doing to harm me. One of the big things they constantly worry about are my kidneys. All I can say is that I have had arthritis for about 4 years now and it is getting progressively worse. I hurt so bad and have a hard time doing anything. It causes lots of fights with Bo and I.  He gets so mad that I am constantly in pain and have a hard time doing anything. If I could have one wish it would be to be rid of this awful disease. I am too young to be in the bad shape that I am in. The other day I couldn’t even update my journal because I found I couldn’t type due to the pain in my hands.

Last night Tyler had a couple of his friends over for the night…Jimmy and Michael…They are both great kids and I love having them over. Jimmy and Ty have been friends since grade school. I constantly tell Jimmy that I would love to adopt him. His dad and I went to high school together and I remember that all the girls would drool over his dad. He was so HOT! To this day he is still a very handsome man and Jimmy follows in his dad’s footsteps. He is a very handsome young man. Already at 16 he has all the girls hanging all over him.

I guess that’s all the news from my house today. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

<smiling> gosh, finally able to come here..I was so blown away about Melissa..grrrrr...Poor baby..feel so bad for her..
Do you have Rheumatoid arthritis? I have taken all those meds too..nothing seems to help me either..grrr..thank god though my hubby is so wonderful about it all..I'm thinking of starting the Enbrel shots myself..just not sure I can handle that yet..Mornings are the worst...I have to get up about 45 minutes earlier than normal..just so my body warms up so I can take a shower..really sucks when you can't even turn the shower knob on. Sometimes it's not so much the pain but feeling tired all the time..grrr..thats what I hate..Like last night getting ready for my class reunion..man I was just dragging..thank god hubby basically pushed me out the door to go..Yep..I went..had a blast too..hehe..paying dearly this morning though..I'm ready to crawl back in bed.
I'm so glad you came to my journal..hehe..think it might have been Debbie that sent you my way??? hmmmm <smiles>
looking forward to getting to know you..sounds like we have a lot in common already..Ü

Hi Linda. Just wanted to say that I appreciate you visiting my journal.

I was shocked to see in Debbie's journal what happened to Melissa, when my computer was finally able to make it through my rounds reading journals. I cannot even imagine how Deb feels! I give her credit, I'd be ranting and about to loose it!

I understand the garbage deal! i have two daughter's the same way! Drives me NUTS!

    Take care,
    Cheryl
