Feeling Sad

Christoper Reeve Dies at the age of 52

         September 25, 1952 – October 10, 2004

Christopher Reeve, the star of the "Superman" movies whose near-fatal riding accident nine years ago turned him into a worldwide advocate for spinal cord research, died Sunday of heart failure, his publicist said. He was 52.

Reeve fell into a coma Saturday after going into cardiac arrest while at his New York home, his publicist, Wesley Combs, told The Associated Press by phone from , on Sunday night.

Reeve was being treated at Westchester Hospital for a pressure wound that he developed, a common complication for people living with paralysis. In the past week, the wound had become severely infected, resulting in a serious systemic infection.

He is survived by his wife, Dana and his 3 children...Matthew, 25, Alexandra, 21, and Will, 11.

Bo heard this news last night and came in and woke me up. I was so upset when I heard this news. I always loved Christopher Reeve...and those blue eyes of his...wow...When I heard about his accident, falling off the horse, several years ago I was upset. I couldn’t even imagine that ‘Superman” was paralyzed. Another great movie that he was in that I always loved was “Somewhere in Time” with Jane Seymour. He was great in Superman but this movie was wonderful as well.

I wish to send my prayers to his family. I will sadly miss this man. And those gorgeous blue eyes of his.

Rest now Christopher. You can now walk again. Be free of that wheelchair…

Very sweet tribute to him. I hope he is free from his broken body now and flying around heaven..just like superman. I liked him very much too...and it sickens me the poor nursing care he recieved.

Oh this is very sad indeed, it's the first I heard of it! I LOVE him in that movie "Somewhere in Time" ~ it had to be easily one of the best.  I remember when I heard the news of his fall, then watching as he fought and tried to do more, watching his lovely wife beside him doing everything to help him alone.  How you could you not love that man>  I'm so sad to hear this today.
