BBQ - Country Style Spare Ribs

Happy | King of the Hill

One of my families favorite summer foods is BBQ'ed ribs. So I decided I would tell you how I make them. I am sure there are many different ways but this is mine.

  Barbecued Ribs
From the Kitchen of Linda Snyder

Country Style Pork Ribs (I prefer the boneless ones. You can also use Beef Ribs if you prefer. We just like the pork ones a lot better.)
Barbecue Sauce (I make my own but you can use what ever kind you like)

The day before I plan on making them I put them into a large pot of boiling water. Let them boil for about 30 minutes. (You want them to be cooked through). After they have boiled take them out of the water and place them in a large pan. Cover with BBQ sauce and refrigerate. Then until I am ready to BBQ them I will turn them over several times so that they get marinated in the sauce really well. The purpose of doing this is so that you don't have to worry about not cooking them completely when you grill them. Also, marinating them allows the BBQ sauce to get into the meat and makes them a lot more tasty and also a lot more tender.

The next day I turn the BBQ on and brush the entire grill with olive oil and once that is done I turn it on. I allow it to get really hot before putting the ribs on the grill. I then put them on the grill and watch them very closely, never leaving them alone. I turn them several times while they are cooking. Each time I turn them I use a brush and baste them. I usually will do this for about 20 minutes or so.

Remove them from the grill and take them to the table and enjoy! And make sure you have plenty of napkins on hand!

I usually make baked beans and my homemade potato salad to serve with my ribs. I will add the potato salad recipe in the next few weeks for you to enjoy this summer.

I always make extras since they are really good the next day also.

I learned alot about new ways to use my microwave oven by visiting web site www.mrmicrowave.us  Has anyone else tried out using metal containers to cook food in their microwave ovens?

Oh no, you've got my gastric juices pumping! As a generously padded mum, I have been trying to balance cooking delicious food for my 6 children with the D-word (Dieting!). For people who don't cook real food, I think dieting's a breeze - after all, who wants to eat cardboard microwave junk (willpower is hardly needed!)  You've sure got a yummy sire!
