Can Iraq really be boring?

I wasn’t expecting to hear from the hub for a while; we both have prepared one another for it to be awhile before he could make contact again. Well my phone rings yesterday and the number comes up as the base number. Ok I freak out because I know if he is wounded they only call and if its worse they will come to your house. So 1st thing in my mind is he just got there and he got shot. I answer the phone not wanting to at all…..its HIM! He is good and all is well. Ok so I tell him he scared the life out of me but I was happy he called and let me know he is doing well. So then my day continues and I decide to go ahead and go to bed and just watch TV in there. I drifted off to sleep. I have no clue what time it was but I woke up briefly some time and realized that the TV is on the Spanish channel. I know some Spanish and all I remember hearing was there was going to be an interview with some new singer in the morning on some show. I roll back over and back out like a light. 2AM…let me repeat that 2AM my phone rings. I struggle to grab it and without even looking at the number I answer it. It’s the hub. He was bored. Ok I love my husband and want every chance he has and it be safe, to call me but how in the hell can you be bored in Iraq? 1st of all wouldn’t you be so nervous that boredom would be the last thing on your mind? Ok maybe that is just me…Im not there…Never been there…have no clue what I am talking about. So I say to him do you know what time it is…he said yeah but he forgot the time difference. This is the same man that has mentioned the time difference every time we have spoken. I’m just going to say what he didn’t….he missed me period! He wanted to make sure his wifie was tucked away safely in HIS bed and would never miss one of his calls no matter what time it was. He didn’t talk but a few minutes and had to go because he and the Lieutenant (hope I spelled that right) were going to the PX. Said he would call me later on in the day for me. I better get all my talking to him out of my system because we both are well aware that his communication with me is about to go to once a week and at times there wont even be that. See sometimes those briefings that I think are useless most of the times, sometimes come through as good information. So I haven’t been able to go back to sleep since he called. Maybe I will take a nap later. I need to go out and start his truck since it hasn’t been started since he left. Off here to take a shower. Hugggs!!!  BTW Tri-care will not allow me to have a civilian PCM they say I am restricted to the Military ones at the base here!!! IM PISSED!!!! Any ideals???

Glad you have communication with the hubby..you can't really do anything if tricare says you have to go on base...that just means that not enough people are going on base..when it gets to busy they send them out...i could be wrong about that though...
hope your weekend is good..the pics of cato cracked me up...

I haven't been around much but I'm around right now.  I'm glad you got to talk to your hubby.  I imagine it is super hard to have him gone.  keep writing.  It has to be good for the soul!

Thanks for the comment in my journal.  Your hubby was probably missing  you and wants to make the most of the time  to contact you while he has it.  But, I do know how you feel when you get an unexpected call...

glad you got to talk to your hubby.
i would look into having another doctor on base. is it just the one you usually see that you don't like?
i was only able to use civilian docs when i wasnt living on base and not anywhere near one..even then so they pick your doctor (tricare does) for you and you get who they choose.
    goodluck with that
    have a good weekend!
