It's that time of year again; the snow covering makes it difficult for the deer ... I, as do many others, put out corn for them.

I just put out a handful for each, but, it is that extra protein that their diet needs.

There's even a DNR term for it: "Recreational Feeding" (there are DNR rules on feeding).   We don't have the chronic wasting disease problem up here.

 A "NEW" PET

It's that time of year again;
A Christmas BAZAAR at the Crystal Falls VFW

THERE WAS A DEDICATION OF THE NEW "POCKET PARK"
(part of the downtown renovation project this past year)

What a great place to set up a table here!

Here, looking thru my craft items: the horseshoe towel rack & bathroom T.P. holders.

How I wanted to buy a display shelf made from a Harley tire for my great grandson!

On the left & right is my table of craft items, my  antler Dreamcatchers, my son's horseshoe craft, my bathroom decor.
DIDN'T SELL ANYTHING, AGAIN!

NOTE:
While I was sitting there, I got started upon designing my Christmas card for this  year.  Last night, at home ... I perfected the design.  It took hours to get the photo to print out dark, but, not TOO dark!  I'm lovin' it!

 See ... I REALLY am a BLOGGER!

I WOULD LIKE TO CONTACT EACH POLITICIAN IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
I hear that they want to shorten their work-week from 4 to 3 days ...
FINE ... But, they are not getting their work done.  There is mention of postponing the April 15 tax-filing deadling next spring because these yo-yo's have not hashed out the federal spending budget, YET!
They are also starting a new "PROBE" ... BUT, let's get our important office-type duties done FIRST!

SOME WINTER READING: someone has undertaken the chore of posting an entire works of THOREAU as an ongoingblog ... really interesting!

Christmas Cooking:

 MRS. CLAUS' HOLIDAY RECIPES

Soon, I'll repeat my list of how to order pasties online ... shipped ALL OVER!
Many places are offering this, including the "Pasty Factory" in Crystal Falls.

What's Christmas to a Skandinavian without Lutefisk?
I always fix it the way Mom did ... bake it slowly in the oven in milk sauce & butter, with cracker crumbs on top.  I don't understand why people make jokes about the Finns & others to whom lutefisk is a Christmas tradition.  In fact, that's usually the only time of  year when you can find it in the local supermarkets.   l LOVE lutefisk.

The Scandinavian delicacy known as lutefisk - which

means, literally, "cod soaked in plutonium"- dates to the

Viking era.

Lutefisk is dried fish (sorta like a piece of shoe leather),

soaked for several days in a lye and water mixture to

soften it ... and then in plain water. It takes on a very

gelatinous texture.
