This is just too much beauty for one person ... this is the only way that I can share it ... via the internet.  This year ... many of these old trees that didn't blossom much last year ... are just burgeoning with lush, lavish blossoms this year.

I can have lavish bouquets to my heart's content:

Here's a link to a previous entry with oodles of apple blossom pictures ... you may have to reload it a few times to get all the pictures to show up.

It's been still cool, often overcast, & some light rains ....  rain's "good for us".

The deer stroll thru ... not interested in corn at all.  I haven't seen the turkeys for a whilel

I had to stop for this porcupine.

We have to be careful driving on our road here ... never know what you'll see.

Here's some people doing some plantings in Crystal Falls; it's a community project of beautification.

WITH THIS WARMER WEATHER ... my gardening needs doing.  Since the geese aren't here to keep my lawn clipped,  I'm not looking forward to wrestling with the lawn mower to get it started!
I did locate my little roto-tiller; my tomato beds need tilling, too.  BUT, I wouldn't dare set the baby tomato plants outside, yet, anyways.

There are many great spots on the Internet for gardeners.

    OUT OF MY MAILBAG ...
    Hello!

I grew up in Stambaugh (now Iron River) and have written two books
about growing up there! First book came out in 1995, "The Wishing
Years" all about being a kid in the U.P. (not just for girls,
either...the Porky Press printed my entire book chapter by chapter
back when the book came out). Anyway, I have a new book, "A Tree
Grows in Trout Creek" at the printers now. I'm sending you a flier
with more info! Hope you can use some of this info. Or go to my
    website/blog: www.wildwoodpress.org

     See ... I REALLY am a
    BLOGGER!

I wrote this message on a local Yahoo board:

I just hope that Somebody besides me notices the "Slick Politician Syndrome" that Obama employs.

Chicago politics has always been almost comic-like-Keystone-Cops.  I'm  sure that the State of Illinois ... and its politicians ... is cut from the same cloth.

Will people let this Slick Politician shine them on?  Will people see the incongruity of a man who was 20 years in a congregation that enthusiastically showed how it approved of the devisive statements of a minister who did the opposite of furthering racial cooperation?  HE LET HIS YOUNG DAUGHTERS LISTEN TO THIS CRAP!  I WOULD HAVE GRABBED MY CHILDREN, MARCHED OUT, & WAVED GOOD-BYE!

OKAY ... after 20 years at this church ... he is publically leaving?  Who's he trying to kid?

On the news, they have been giving reports that in the hurricane-prone states, government & individuals just have not learned their lessons.
MOST HAVE NOT DONE ANY PREPARATION ... SUCH AS STORED FOOD, WATER, TOOLS, BATTERIES, PLANS!  At the time of Katrina ... the game of Russian Roulette, played for 300 years ... FINALLY dealt a mortal blow.  Most states & people just haven't learned from even that lesson!

Here's a good idea from Michigan:

Everything is looking pretty and green. Those apple trees blooming are beautiful. I have a cousin who has a daughter that lives somewhere up your way but I don't know exactly where. She and her other daughter and a grandchild have gone from AL to there and in all will stay nearly 2 weeks. Over one week has already gone by. I have never seen a real porcupine. Guess maybe your turkeys are off nesting. Enjoy all that pretty greenery. It is in the 90's this week here and we need rain badly. Helen
