Stop & smell the roses ... I have wild roses in my yard ... have been trying to corral them into their own flower bed.

They spread so; I have some that are straying,  & will need to be dug up, to  begin a new "bed of roses".
THE WEATHER: it is said that our rainfall this year is above average ... not a problem for me here, there are no wetlands on this 40.  I am getting behind on the lawn-mowing & the Battle of the Burrs, tho.

You know that I am hoping that mining comes back to the U.P.  I have to find out if that was a mining surveyors' airplane flying over the other day.  Nowadays, their instrumentation allows them to search for minerals/metals that way.

I just couldn't get my camera out & pointed in time to get some decent pictures ... this is the best I could do.

But, the photo shows TWO airplanes?

WRONG ... on looking closer ... a mosquito got into the picture!

Crystal Falls is gearing up for the HUMUNGUS FUNGUS FEST ... I'll have to dig up my info on this event.
My mind is spinning ... dreaming up some recipes to enter in the MUSHROOM COOKING CONTEST.  I was pretty proud of my entries last year; two of three won prizes in their division.
Here's a link to the recipes for those.

ON A JUNE ENTRY ... I showed these photos:
Here'ssome people doing some plantings in Crystal Falls; it's a community project of beautification.

THEIR PLANTINGS ARE LOOKING SO NICE, NOW.

My entries for the writing contest ... I didn't get around to writing a new entry ... so ... I submitted two stories from a previous contest.  They fit the spec's perfectly, anyways.  I had made a webpage for each of them.

See ... IREALLY am a BLOGGER!
Channel 6 T.V.  out of Marquette, MI is a strong advocate for spending our money on products made in the U.P.  That is so important.  ALSO, whenever possible, try to support your local merchants to keep them in your community.  In Michigan, your tax dollars at the gas station go to the county where the station is.  LOOK AT THE LABELS; BUY AMERICAN!

HERE'S ANOTHER LOCAL BUSINESS

I knew the mosquitoes in Iron County were big enough to carry babies away but I didn't know they approached the size of airplanes.
Thanks for your entry into the contest. Now vote for which of the stories other than yours is the best.

I can almost smell those roses. Those deer sure have some tender green grass to eat with apples for dessert. Our grass is dying it is so dry here. Hugs, Helen
