I've Been Tagged

Lisa, from Life on a Bison Farm was a bad girl and tagged me...don't laugh you may be next.

Rules of the game

1. Each player answers questions about themselves.

2. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people, and posts their names, goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know they've been tagged.

Questions

1. WHAT WHERE YOU DOING TEN YEARS AGO

In 1998, I was working a clerical job at a Family Practice Residency Clinic.  My job was to listen to the pharmacy refill line and process the patient's requests. With 12 residents and 10 faculty doctors...we had lots of patients. I would get approximately 80 to 100 calls a day.  I had a neat little Access form I filled out, printed out each request, then I'd go to Medical Records, pull the chart and deliver them to the appropriate doctor. I actually did this for 6 years. In that time, I learned the phone numbers of every pharmacy within a 15 mile radius and how to spell even the most difficult medication names. I loved working in the clinic...I loved working with these young doctors who were starting their careers in the field of Rural Family Medicine. Part of the Mission Statement of this clinic was "To serve the under served." Many of these docs went on to practice in very remote areas. They were in the doctor business to help people, not to become rich and join the local Country Club. In 2000, I decided I needed a change and transferred to another department, where I stayed until retirement in February 2007.

2. WHAT ARE 5 THINGS ON MY TO-DO  LIST TODAY

take a shower and get dressed

deliver some Avon

go to a local hardware store and get a couple things they have on sale that I need

clean the kitchen, which means washing the dishes (I have no dishwasher other than my two hands.)

watch "Dancing With The Stars" and "The Bachelor" tonight

3. SNACKS I ENJOY

Anything chocolate...candy, cookies, cake, chocolate cream pie...all of it!!!  Popcorn, not the flavored stuff...just good old "cooked on the stove top" popcorn...oh and movie popcorn of course. And ice cream even vanilla as long as it has Hershey's chocolate syrup on it

4. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE A BILLIONAIRE?

I would have a handicapped accessible house built for my daughter and family. (She's in a wheelchair from a massive stroke 6 years ago)  Then I would build a house for me...somewhere with a view of the water and/or mountains.  Also a house for my son.  And I would give him money to finish taking the flying lessons, he desires to take.

I would donate money to my church, several local Christian Schools, CareNet (Crisis Pregnancy), American Cancer Society, Aids Foundation and finally the Humane Society.  I would also like to give money to several churches in my area that feed the hungry street people on a regular basis and to local food banks.

5. BAD HABITS

spending too much time on the computer (at times)

eating those snacks mentioned in #3

impatient

procrastinating~like planning on going groery shopping all week and finally getting to the store at 5pm on Saturday.

6. 5 PLACES I HAVE LIVED

eastern Washington as a young child (with my mom) when my dad was in the Army overseas during WWII

rural area of my home town

south end of my home town

north end of my home town

my present town which if I lived 5 blocks east, I'd be back in the south end of my home town.   Real exciting, huh?

7. 5 JOBS I'VE HAD

for one month after high school, cooking in a nursing home (horrible job)

then off to the phone company for 4 years as a long distance operator

Oldsmobile  & Chevrolet dealership, parts & service cashier

PBX operator at a large local bank

hospital admitting clerk (9 years) then I was hurt on the job

pharmacy refill person at Family Practice Clinic

administrative assistant in the hospital's Customer Service Call Center

5 people I want to know about:

Robin, The Yellow Brick Road

Monica, Mamarazzi

BettyKoda's Corgi Tales

Meg  In Quest Of

Barbara, Confessions of An Angel Waitress

I do enjoy reading these types of things!  I have also wondered what it fells like to be born, grow up and still live in the same place.  I've had somewhat of a Nomadic existance.  In fact, my five years here where I work has been the longest time I have lived anywhere in my life!
