Lords of the New Church 2003 EuroTour

Hamburg, Germany-
I love this city but it is simply sexual overkill and our hotel was in the pit of it. The LOGO CLUB use to be known as STAR CLUB in the day of the BEATLES, whom often gigged it as well as other legends. The attendance was poor by my expectations but the sound was brilliant. I took liberty of switching guitars song to song at will to toy with the texture of the tunes.

I admit that I tend to internalize quite a bit on tour and I was doing my best to channel such energy into anger and contempt on stage. We have a difficult week ahead of us and I’m gonna miss the familiarity and security of Germany. I was back to our Hotel by 1 am sober but with the city of Hamburg bustling below, driver URSULA insisted we step out for 1 Guinness. Of course every pub we crossed w/ Guinness was closing and pushed us to the next. We ended up at the BEAT CLUB drinking the tallest strongest Caipirnhia's we've ever witnessed and then retired tot he room at nearly 4 am. Thinking to remember, drinking to forget. ...These were not my intentions but the road has a way of leading you elsewhere.
Fatigue, hunger, and sleep deprivation setting in then.....
"Hey!, let's load gear at 2 am!!" This is touring. The stage is my reward. When I stop enjoying that and the rest outweighs it I know the current chapter is near its end.....
