Lords of the New Church 2003 EuroTour

Lillehammer- LAST SHOW We drove 10 hours hard to make it to the club on time. Of course, the soundman wasn’t even ready for another 2 hours. This is typical. Much too typical. NEVER RUSH YOURSELVES FOR A SOUNDCHECK! 6 weeks now and for some inane optimistic pre conception, we never learn to accept this lesson. I know our last show is gonna be a racy, raunchy blur so... .I'll just wear both earplugs and bash out the tunes thank you. We did manage to pillage thru a Tregunna rendition of THE STONES "Last Time" though... Pre show, there were fans with loads of old lore to be signed...Sham69, Damned, Wanderers, CherryBombz, Tanz Der Youth, etc etc. It's still real cool for me to see their faces light up as Bri and Dave ink their prized collections. I made the costly mistake of tryin to eat dinner, so by set and midnight I was sicker than the dog under the Thanksgiving day table. My gut was clenched and grinding 2 hrs straight and throughout the final set. I kept breakin strings, swapping guitars, and pushing my vox to their end over our loudest set yet. I dragged my way thru the "Midset Brian Wildcard" which became a version of MINDWARP. By the end of it all, our techs SteveIII and Colin were onstage with us scattering thru the debris as we smashed out NEAT NEAT NEAT one last time.  SEE COMMENTS

  I was clearly unable to enjoy the "now" of it all and cherish any nostalgic gurglings. Even as I attempted to hoof it back to the hotel, I can't believe I/ we survived it all. Thank you, good night, we love you all, in Stiv’s name, amen. -Lord Adam Wm. Becvare
