While on the recumbent bike, I was reading the latest issue of Time when I came across this ad:

I couldn't quite believe my eyes and thought, "Is that the same one? Is it really a remake?" and as I read the description, I realized that YES! A&E has done a remake of one of my all-time favorite movies, "The Andromeda Strain!" I wrote about it a while back. It's the movie that made me want to become a microbiologist.

A&E even has a web site set up where you can watch clips of the movie--oh boy, it looks good--and download wallpapers like this picture. Take a look and see if it grabs you the way it does me, and if the story is one that you might like.

It's got some great actors in it, like Benjamin Bratt, Eric McCormack (the guy who played Will on "Will & Grace") and Andre Braugher. One of the directors is Ridley Scott...yes, the Ridley Scott who directed "Alien" and "Blade Runner." This has the potential to be excellent. I hope they do a good job with it, because isn't it disappointing when you see a remake of a favorite and say, "Ohh...that's not very good"?

It says it's a "two-night television event," with the first night showing on Memorial Day. I'll be watching!

... wow ..!  That takes me back to my childhood and brings my Mother back to me ..!

... in Ridley Scott's hands, and with A - LIST actors on board, I just hope I don't expect too much of the movie ... in fact, the 'decomtamination' sequences are what I think when I speak of 'decompression' and 'decomtamination' in my life experience ... and always, always have ..!

I think it's something Doc and I would definitely check out. Looks like it would be a great movie treat. (Hugs) Indigo
