Koda's Corgi Tales

Okay, this is a rant, and I'm sorry because I usually don't like to rant in my journal, but........................................its about Koda and you got to speak up for those that can't speak up.

He doesn't like other dogs; its a fact I know and I'm sure if we contacted the Dog Whisperer, he would give us wonderful advice on how to socialize Koda to be around other dogs and actually like them. However, since Cesar Millan is not around to help me, and I know I could probably find another trainer, but it hasn't been a priority, we make sure Koda is never around other dogs where he could be a danger to them. 

If we are out walking and see another dog who is walking with their owner, we will cross the street or if we can't cross the street, because we are at a park or something like that, we go as far around them as possible.  If a dog is out in his front yard with his owner off-leash, we do the same thing. 

We tell people who approach him who are walking other dogs that he is not friendly. 

So this morning I'm walking and I'm in a mood anyway, which is never good, and this man with 2 dogs comes around the corner where I'm walking and I don't have time to cross the street but I move into the street to make plenty of room.  He allows his dogs to come real close to Koda and I can barely get the words out "he's not friendly" when Koda starts being "Cujo" (my husband's nickname for him when he snarls and growls at other dogs, vacuum cleaners, trash trucks or cats).  The guy tugs back his dogs on their leash and gives me a disgusted look. I'm thinking "hello, you allow your dogs to come up to a dog you've never seen before and then you act disgusted because he growls and snarls at your dog"? But I didn't say anything, that's what journals are for so I can write my vent and rant here.

Okay, rant over. Its amazing how I can have a great devotion time at 5:30 a.m. and by 7:00 a.m. be back to a carnal person. Geesh!!!
