JETS Game Preview: JETS (1-2) vs. Bills (0-3)

The JETS this week head to Buffalo to play the division rival, Buffalo Bills.  The JETS are looking to get back to .500, while the Bills are looking for their first win of the season.  The JETS are facing a Bills team that has major injury problems.  Here is my preview.

JETS OFFENSE vs. Bills Defense

The Bills injury problems are huge on defense.  Out are Keith Ellison, Coy Wire, Ko Sampson, Paul Posluzney, and Jason Webster.  Terrence McGee is a question mark for the Bills at corner, but it looks like he is going to play in this game.  The Bills defense has had trouble so far this season.  They currently have the worst defense in the NFL.  They rank 32nd against the pass and in run defense.  Chad Pennington and Thomas Jones should both have a big day in this game.

EDGE: JETS

JETS DEFENSE vs. Bills Offense

The Bills starting QB, JP Losman is out for this game.  Rookie Trent Edwards will start for the Bills.  The Bills gameplan is going to be very conservative.  The JETS are going to see a lot of Marshawn Lynch and screen passes.  The JETS have had trouble stopping the run and last week they struggled against the screen passes Miami called.  I think the JETS will do better defending the run since they know that the Bills are restricted to doing these two things since they have a rookie QB starting for them.

EDGE: JETS

The JETS should win this game.  The Bills are a mess right now, and they are counting on a rookie QB who wasn't even expected to see any playing time this season.  The only reasons why I could see the JETS losing this game is because of Marshawn Lynch and if they turn the ball over a lot.  Lynch has been compared to Willis McGahee, who has killed the JETS throughout his career, and if a team turns the ball over a lot then the opposing team should be able to turn those turnovers into points.  I expect the JETS to avoid turning the ball over and to hold Marshawn Lynch to fair- okay numbers rushing.

Prediction: JETS 24   Bills 10

Week 3  Forecast and JETS Game Preview

Here are my picks for Week 3 and the preview for the JETS game this week against the Dolphins.

This Week I like...

The Ravens over the Cardinals

The Patriots over the Bills

The Eagles over the Lions

The Colts over the Texans

The Chiefs over the Vikings

The Chargers over the Packers

The Steelers over the 49ers

The Bucs over the Rams

The Seahawks over the Bengals

The Broncos over the Jaguars

The Panthers over the Falcons

The Bears over the Cowboys

In the Monday Nighter, I like the Saints over the Titans

My UPSETS for this Week Include...

The Browns over the Raiders

AND

The Giants over the Redskins

The JETS (0-2) this week host the Miami Dolphins (0-2) in an important game for both teams.  The JETS should get Chad Pennington back for this game, and he should have no problems with this Dolphins defense.  Thomas Jones should have a big game this week against the weak Dolphins run defense.  The pass defense of the Dolphins isn't that much better.  Chad Pennington should have at least a 200 yard passing game.  The Defense needs to put pressure on Trent Green.  The Dolphins passing game has been the only good thing for Miami so far this season.  The JETS are going to win this game, and I wouldn't be surprised if this game was a blowout.

Prediction: JETS 27  Dolphins 14

Last Week: 9-7

To Date: 21-11 (66%)

Week 2: Jets (0-1) vs. Ravens (0-1)

The JETS travel to Baltimore this week to face the Ravens.  Here is my preview.

JETS OFFENSE vs. Ravens Defense

This is a very tough matchup for the JETS.  It looks like Chad Pennington is not going to play this week for the JETS.  Kellen Clemens is most likely going to get the start for the JETS.  This is not the ideal situation for Clemens to be making his first start.  The Ravens defense is one of the best in the league with Ray Lewis, Chris McCalister, and Ed Reed.  If the JETS are going to have success in this game the running game is going to be the reason.  The JETS need Thomas Jones to have a good game on Sunday so he can take the pressure off of Kellen Clemens.  If the JETS have to rely on Kellen Clemens to win the game, then their in big trouble.

EDGE: Ravens

JETS DEFENSE vs. Ravens Offense

The Ravens offense has QB issues just like the JETS.  Steve McNair might not be able to go against the JETS this week.  If this is the case, then Kyle Boller would start for the Ravens.  Personally, I think that McNair will start the game on Sunday for the Ravens.  Either way the Ravens go with the QBs, they have Willis MaGahee as their RB, who was killed the JETS.  The key for the JETS will be to stop the running game.  The Ravens will most likely want to develop the running game before throwing the ball against the JETS.  If the JETS can stop MaGahee, the JETS can be effective against this Ravens Offense.  It is also good if they can put pressure on Steve McNair and his groin injury.  It is definitely realistic that it can happen since Jonathan Ogden is most likely not going to play.

EDGE: Even

This game is going to be an ugly game.  I think whoever scores between 13-17 points first will win this game.   Both teams have injury problems and issues on their offensive lines.  I think that in the end that in this game Kellen Clemens is going to have to do a lot since he won't get the support from the running game.

Prediction: Ravens 17   JETS 10
