From the Edge of Dementia

Wooooo... I'm a bit tired.  We were up quite late last night but one thing is for sure and has been for over 20 years:  Marie Gerwig can make me laugh no matter what.  And I did laugh.  I laughed long and I laughed hard.  And it felt so good.  And then when Marie and Susan went to bed I put the blankets and pillows on the floor in front of the fireplace and cried myself to sleep.  I cried long and I cried hard.  And it felt so good.

Now I am watching Court TV with Pop.  Bath Lady will be here soon to give him his bath.  While she's got him in the tub, I'll take care of the dishes that have piled up over night while I was gone.  

When I got home this morning, I went down to the cave and brought my laptop back up here. Then I went back down and started gathering other accessories I'd need while up here.  It occurred to me that I should just take my bag I had taken to Marie's and put everything in there so I could make one trip.  It felt like I was leaving the cave to move upstairs.  And, in a way, I am.  I hate that idea.  But despite my added time here on the main floor of the house, my cave is still right underneath me.  Only steps away.

Be that as it may, I'm enjoying my time with Pop.  It feels good that my presence seems to comfort him.
