From the Edge of Dementia

"What's that circle on your leg?" Ma asked the other day.

"I don't know, Ma," I answered, "It looks like a burn but I don't know how I did it."

Except I do.  I put it there myself.  Sounds nutty, I know.  I am into body art, though, with 4 tattoos.  Once this completely heals I'll be finishing it.  It's going to be a lower case "b".  As in Bramble.  As in the way Pop always signed his art with small letters. 

Don't ask me what possessed me to do this.  It was a whim.  But the pain was rather refreshing...

  I watched this thing on National Geographic the other night, one of the Taboo series. They had a special on how the new thing is not tattoos, but to burn in designs. The pain is unbelievable, but people do it. Be careful doing stuff like that, you can get infections..they were talking about that too along with showing people getting the burning done. Kelly

  MJ... You really need to find something more constructive to do than taking pleasure in cutting yourself.  I know you are creative, but, damn girl..  find another way to make those little b's!!
