Feeling Quiet
Hearing Christmas Music
What Constitutes Happiness?
This morning I took a little time to look over a few of the recommended blog sites here.
Some seem to put more emphasis on graphics, than profound thoughts, but I guess in this high tech world, that is par for the course.
Personally, I don't have much patience for fancy graphics. My computer is old and takes too much time to upload all the "stuff."
God, even on the Internet, there is so much noise! Stuff that fills the eyes and head with "stuff" that two minutes later is forgotten.
Nevertheless, in these ramdom stumblings, I did come across one blogger who stated the 10 things that made her most "happy."
Hm, well, that is actually an interesting thought!
When I actually pondered this question, I realize that despite the endless advertising on what we should "buy" for ourselves or others, none of it makes my personal list of happiness.
What is happiness?
Probably and mostly, a transitory state of mind.
But, at least for me the things that most bring about that (peaceful or joyeus) state of nirvanna:
10 -- A new animal rescue.
9 -- Seeing the ducks swim in the Central Park lake. (I always feel all is right with the world).
8 -- Hearing a particularly favorite song. (Music so influences mood).
7 --Finding something unusual or particularly beautiful to photograph (amazing how cameras make one "see.").
6 --Spending time with a special friend and being totally unaware of time itself passing.
5 -- Jay Leno, Letterman or any other great comedian who can bring the gift of laughter by pointing to life's absurdities.
4-- Just walking around the city with my wonderful dog, Tina and enjoying the constant "life" of New York.
3-- SWIMMNG -- The ultimate sense of freedon and flying!
2 -- One of our rescued pets finding a great and forever home!
1-- Visits from my grown daughter -- Can't wait for Christmas!!
