When Love Finds Love

I just had to say, "good-bye" to Greystoke a short while ago.

But, he is now in a wonderful and loving home on West End Avenue.

The people previously had a Russian Blue for 17 years. After their cat passed away, they had been seeking another "Blue" for more than a month.  Having moved to New York from Texas, they apparently didn't know about AC&C or the other shelters here.  They instead had contacted breeders!

But, somehow they found Greystoke on Petfinders and when they came to see him earlier, Greystoke was all over them.  It didn't take long to fall in love with this gentle giant. -- They even liked Greystoke's size (well, being from "Texas," everything big is appreciated!).

I am happy for Greystoke.  Magnificant home for magnificant cat.

But, when completing the adoption, I told the people:

"Now remember if you know other good people looking for pets, you have to direct them to the shelters or to us in rescue.  There is no reason to go to breeders!"

And the husband answered, "You are right. I've heard the mixes are healthier too."

After all, none of us really knows whether or not Greystoke was a "pure" Russian Blue.  Judging by his huge size, probably not!

In the end, though, it is not "breed" that counts, but lovingness and personality.

Greystoke, if not a total "Russian Blue," indeed was 100% pure love!

Its a darn good day when love finds love!
