Ding Dong.....!
(Picture Above: Bootsy)
Yesterday was a fantastic day!
For one matter, I finally found a terrific home for Bootsy (pictured above).
Bootsy was the two-year-old Maine Coon-type cat rescued more than four months ago from the pound.
Bootsy was beautiful, healthy, very friendly and social (with people) and active.
When I say, "active" I mean with a capital A.
In fact, Bootsy drove me crazy.
Bootsy loved to jump to the highest places. She would manage to get to the top of my doors and jump from one to the other and into the top of closets, where she promptly delighted in knocking things down.
While Bootsy was here, I felt like the Mother of a highly rambunctious two-year-old child.
I don't think I ever saw Bootsy sleep.
When not performing Cirque de Soleil feats around my apartment, Bootsy also delighted in terrorizing the more timid cats in my home.
One cat, Maria took to hiding behind my couch most of the time to escape Bootsy's attacks. Another, Brandon, hides in a closet.
I've had almost nonstop fighting since Bootsy's arrival late last year.
When a lovely woman called the other day interested in Bootsy, I almost jumped through the ceiling in sheer joy.
Is it possible? Can we finally get a home for Bootsy?
I was afraid to get my hopes too high for fear the woman might flake out or decline to adopt when actually meeting Bootsy.
But, yesterday, Deborah did show up with her husband and Bootsy was on her best behavior. She warmly greeted the kindhearted, cat-loving, middle-aged couple.
I of course, warned the people of Bootsy's "high activity levels." But, such was an attribute to them. They previously had two active cats who lived well into their teens.
They adopted Bootsy.
Thank God!
Last night was the first real night of peace and serenity I've had in a long time.
And it was nice to see the more "shrinking violet" cats who lived in fear for their lives while Bootsy was here, finally walk around like normal animals.
Ding, Dong, the witch is gone! I could almost hear them thinking. -- PCA
