"The 3AM White House Crisis Call"

In the last Democratic debate, Barack Obama accused Hillary Clinton of "whining" over unfair press coverage.

But, less than a week later and following losses in three Primary election states, Obama himself is whining over tougher news coverage.

He attributes the recent primary losses to both, critical media scrutiny and "negative" ads put out by his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

What is the political ad causing the Obama campaign and so many of his enraptured supporters to cry "Uncle?"

The TV ad depicting a ringing phone at the White House at 3AM and asking "Who do you want answering the phone at 3 in the morning?"  (Who do you want in the White House during a potential crisis?)

"Fear mongering!" they charge.  The cool and collected Obama could handle a crisis better than Hillary Clinton!   "What crisis has she ever had to confront?"

Are they really serious in asking the last question?

It's debatable how well Barack Obama really handles crisis or setbacks.  Apparently, Obama was quite piqued and abrupt with reporters last week when questioned about NAFTA and his past ties to Rezko, the Chicago tycoon (and past supporter of Obama) now on trial for corruption charges.

This seems like pretty tame stuff considering the tough, "hardball" questions a President has to answer at Press Conferences or White House press secretaries have to answer on a daily basis.  They just can't up and walk out of the room in a huff when the going gets tough.

Has Obama ever had to handle a major crisis or disappointment of any kind? -- Personal or professional?

It's reported he once lost an election for local office and afterwards, like a spoiled child, vowed he would never run for anything again.  (I'm taking my marbles and going home!)

But, then easy opportunities arose for Obama to run for and win state Senator position and later, the US Senate.

It doesn't appear that Obama has ever had to endure great crisis, setback or suffering and conflict.

Obama's meteoric journey through local and national politics has been a comparatively easy and unchallenged one.

But, what about Hillary Clinton?

"What crisis has she ever handled?" Obama asks.

It makes one wonder where Obama was during the late 90's when Hillary's husband was impeached, calls were made for Bill Clinton to resign the Presidency and the couple was excoriated in the press.

In 2000, when running for and winning the New York Senate seat, Hillary was accused of "carpetbagging" and winning the seat based upon emotional sympathy from women.

What "emotional sympathy?"  Many women (including myself to some degree) questioned Hillary's independence, resolve and self survival by electing to stay with a spouse who habitually cheated and humiliated her on a national and world stage.  Where's this woman's gumption?   She needs to get a backbone and leave!

I've since had cause to change my mind on that.  It took moral strength, great commitment and resolve to stay with a man like Bill, than to leave.  Bill Clinton has his redeeming qualities such as (I now believe) genuine love for his wife -- though his actions often belied that.

But, aside from personal crisis, Hillary has had to deal with others -- such as the aftermath of 9-11.

Perhaps, she hasn't wanted to sound like Rudy Giuliani in making political hay out of 9-11, but the fact is, Hillary was at ground zero within days and fought tooth and nail in the Senate and with the administration to get adequate protection for ground zero workers and health care for those who got sick from inhaling toxic fumes at the site.

While 8 years in the White House as First Lady, Hillary was very involved with the actions and policies of her husband's administration.  Reports abound about various conflicts between Hillary and Vice President Gore at the time over who was the real Vice President.  In many ways, Hillary served as a type of roving ambassador and diplomat, visiting more than 80 countries and meeting with dignitaries, kings and Prime Ministers. She courageously spoke up for human and women's rights in many of these countries, including China.

But, perhaps Hillary's Clinton's greatest "test" for handling crisis and setback, has been her undaunted strength and sheer grit in overcoming adversity during this election campaign.

Nobody (at least in my memory) has been subject to more verbal vivisection, declarations of political death and vitriol than Hillary Clinton, both in the press and by political pundits.

I have personally never understood the "hate" that has been so generated towards Hillary Clinton.

"Anybody but Hillary!" they say.  "She'll do anything to win."

Well, isn't that what we want?  Someone who's willing to fight or do what's necessary to "win?"  Someone who doesn't just pick up her marbles and go home when the going gets tough?

Some men (I believe) feel intimidated by a strong woman.  Some women may be jealous of a woman of substance and power.

That is their problem.

I've observed Hillary Clinton for many years now and though originally questioning of her motivations and gumption, I have few doubts now.

She is probably the most extraordinary, hard working and gifted person of our times.

If anyone can turn this country around, it is Hillary Clinton because nothing seems to deter her from her ultimate goals and nothing can bring her down.

She is the one person who should be at that White House phone at 3AM should the "crisis call" ever come.

If the 3AM "crisis call" ad upset some people and was branded "negative" by Obama and others, its only because it was all too true. -- PCA

    The fairy tale is over.

Obama's pixie dust is wearing off.

A few in the corporate media are finally starting to reveal some details about this man's judgment.

I speak of Obama's long association with his spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama says he didn't know Wright was far, far left. While that is hard to believe, it says that Obama is not a very discerning judge of character. And it shows poor judgment for a presidential candidate to allow such an extremist to serve on his campaign.

Rev. Wright says AIDS was created by the US government to kill black people.

    Come on!

"I didn't know about that man, Rev. Wright." Is that what Obama is telling us?

But there is more to come.

Obama's friend, William Ayers, is an unrepentent terrorist.

An Obama fund raiser, Rashid Khalidi, supports terrorists.

Wait till these tidbits come out. Maybe they won't release them till after Obama wins the nomination.

These associations with radicals show that Obama does not yet have the judgment nor the experience to be at the top of the ticket.
