Politics of Victimization Destructive to African Americans
"Temporary Insanity -- that lasted 20 years."
Other than the above, there is no reasonable explanation that Obama can offer for his close, 20-year association with Reverend Wright.
Not only are Wright's comments racist and inflammatory towards white people and his own country, but perhaps more importantly, they are destructive to his own people.
Telling people repeatedly, that they are "victims" of others unfairness or oppression is only to guarantee they will forever play and wallow in the victim role.
Hardly the politics of "hope" that Obama has been running on.
Michele Obama stated that for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country (presumably because hubby was ahead in the primaries). She can prepare to play "victim" again, because there is no way in hell voters are going to put into the White House, America-hating people who carry huge boulders on their shoulders and refuse to move on in life.
At one time or another (though the ages) almost every race, religion, or nationality has experienced tyranny, war, oppression, genocide and injustice.
More than 6 million Jews were murdered by the Nazi's during WW2. One doesn't see Jews today railing against Germany or still wallowing in the "victim" role.
We are what we think and perceive ourselves to be. Adversity and injustice strengthens some people and causes others to forever wallow in self pity, delusion and victimization.
Its pretty clear where Wright stands. And in following this preacher so closely over 20 years, Obama is right behind him, not before.
Obama had the free choice to reject this hate speech 20 years ago.
In failing to do that, he became not only enabler to it, but supporter and embracer of it. -- PCA
