Guns, God and Apple Pie

The eloquent one wasn't quite so "eloquent" when speaking to a group of well heeled contributors at a recent San Francisco fund raising event.

According to Barack Obama, much of "small town" American was "bitter" over a sagging economy and "clinging to religion, guns and antipathy" against all those who do not resemble them as a "way to explain frustrations."

What did Obama mean by that?

Who is "small town" America, anyway?

Anyone without a Harvard degree?  Anyone earning less than a hundred grand a year? Anyone not living in a Hollywood mansion or Manhattan high-rise?

What does Obama mean when he intimates only poor or "bitter" people go to church on Sundays?  Is religion just a way to channel "frustrations?"

Should we assume that because Barack Obama is a professional and material success, he has no religion?

Or, should we presume Obama follows the "God Damn America!" religious espousals of his former Pastor,  Jeremiah Wright?

Is religion only for the uneducated, bitter or disenfranchised?

If so, which of those categories does the famous Mr. Wright fall into?

What about guns?

Is it only the bitter, the uneducated and the poor who "cling to guns?"

Which of those categories does Dick Cheney fit into?

It is hard to believe someone of Barack Obama's intelligence, education, thoughtfulness and eloquence could say something so utterly thoughtless and downright dumb.

Or was it really not so "thoughtless and dumb," but rather condescending, patronizing and judgmental?

When deciding to run for President less than one year after being elected to the United States Senate, Barack Obama claimed it was due to the "fierce urgency of the now."

What made the now "so fierce and so urgent" that Obama couldn't put in one Senate term before running for the highest office in the land?

Does Obama think so little of the office of the President of the United States?

Or, is it more a case of the "Audacity of the Hyper Ego" that prompted Barack Obama to run for President though lacking the credentials of testing and experience?

Obama calls his campaign the "Politics of Hope and Change."

But, there seems little "hope" in many of his recent bleak and "bitter" speeches.

And one needs to seriously question the so-called "changes" Obama wants to bring America.

Does Obama want to get rid of guns, God and apple pie?

Or, does he simply want to sit in the ivory tower of the White House?

It seems Obama is already sitting in an ivory tower without being anywhere near the White House.

The democratic party needs to think long and hard before handing this nomination to a man whose wife refers to 2008 America as "mean," whose former pastor proclaimed "The chickens are coming home to roost" after 9-11 and whose own words paint an ugly and pathological picture of modern day America.

Democrats might recall that the only democrat to be elected to two terms in the White House since Franklin Delanor Roosevelt has been Bill Clinton.

The Clintons, despite their flaws and "fish stories" are looking very good compared to the other choices in this election cycle.

Maybe its because the Clintons are able to come down from ivory towers and understand the basics of "Guns, God and apple pie."

They are flawed, but they are American.

Just because you prop Barack Obama in front of eight American flags, it doesn't make him an American in the "apple pie," patriotic and courageous sense of that term.

Obama's been too busy tearing this country down to see its guts, its glory, its generosity, its achievements and its potential.

He should have torn up his "Malcolm X" playbook instead.

Americans are not going to elect a dispatriot to the White House, despite all the eloquence, charisma, charm and Harvard degrees in the world.

Barack and Michele needed to find -- and feel a little more "pride" in America before themselves. --- PCA
