"Mama, Stop Beating Up on Poor Little Me!"

Even when Hillary Clinton wins, she loses.

The weak and almost embarrassing performance by Barack Obama in last night's debate, resulted not so much in critiques of him, but rather Hillary Clinton.

"She went after him at every opportunity!"  "Some will accuse her of trying to destroy the party." "She's playing to the superdelegates!"

Even Barack himself decried, "My opponent's using Republican talking points!"  "It's the same ol' politics!"

Well, someone once said, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Politics isn't about "fair and nice."

Its about hardball.

Its about scrutiny.

Its about testing and challenging in effort to find the strongest, most resilient and best equipped person to take on the job of leader of the free world -- President of the United States.

Barack appeared uncomfortable last night.  Annoyed, piqued and irritated.

That famous Obama pride took a bit of a hit.

Who are they to ask the great one -- me -- these kinds of questions? one could almost hear him thinking.

My pastor, my friends -- a damn lapel pin?  Who cares about this stuff?  I wanna to talk about 'hope and change!'  Why aren't they cheering me?

And so, Barack tried to deflect the charges by saying (paraphrasing) I never heard my pastor utter those offensive comments....  His church has performed wonderful works......I was only 8-years-old when Ayers carried out these acts....I show my patriotism in other ways than wearing lapel pins."

Okay.

But, wonderful works don't diminish the wrong judgments we do and say.  One, in fact, has nothing to do with the other. It's hard to believe that while sitting in a church pew for 20 years, Barack Obama was "totally unaware" of Pastor Wright's most inflammatory opinions and diatribes.

"Chickens coming home to roost" after 9-11?  "God Damn America?"

For one who "damns" America, Reverend Wright has done very well here.  He just moved into a multi million dollar mansion.

Barack hasn't done too shabbily either.  He made $4 million last year -- and that's without having been President.

Lapel pins?  It can certainly be argued that wearing an American flag lapel pin says little about one's true sense of patriotism.

That Obama wasn't wearing the pin last night given to him the previous day by a wounded war veteran perhaps only suggests one who rushes to stores following Christmas Day to return unwanted gifts.

As for the "friendly" relationship with former radical ("Weathermen) terrorist, Bill Ayers, well, it could be argued that many people did things in the early 70's that they now regret.

The problem is that Ayers doesn't regret bombing buildings at all and in fact, has claimed as late as 2001, his radical group "didn't do enough."

Were some of these questions asked of Obama last night, "unfair" or "despicable?"

It doesn't seem so.

The American voter should have right to know the kinds of people a potential President enjoys hanging out and associating with.  They go to issues of character, attitude and love (or lack thereof) of country.  In some ways these questions are more important than knowing whether a candidate will or will not raise taxes if elected.

What about Hillary Clinton and the questions asked of her?

Was the question of her embellished trip to Bosnia important or fair?

About as important as "favorite family recipes" from Cindy McCain that were apparently lifted from the food channel.

Show me the person who's doesn't embellish the telling of various events, trips (or recipes) in their lives, and I'll show you a person who is either dead or deadly boring.

The so-called, "Bosniagate"  was never a story at all.

But, hey, all's fair in love, war -- and politics!

The Obama campaign wanted to make an "issue" of Bosnia and they succeeded in that.

But, then don't cry, "Mama" when the tables are turned.

You dish out the heat, then you need to be prepared to take it.

Obama wasn't prepared last night.  His injured pride got in the way.

As for Hillary, I'm just glad she didn't claim knowledge of how to shoot a gun.

The image of Hillary with a gun is somewhat frightening -- especially with Bill as her husband.  -- PCA
