A Citizens Line

When we succeed in helping the Iraqis establish their "Free Democracy", sometime late next year, a gigantic step will be completed to setting up paradigm of peace in the Middle East. Many of the world's conflicts will begin to subside, because it will show that violence and terror, tyranny and dictatorial rule does not provide the answer for mankind.

It has been reported that over 90% of the confrontations in the world involve muslims; thus, for peace to become the rule of the world the aggression of Islam, jihad or not, must be refocused. This can be done with the cooperation of the highest leaders of Islam in all nations, who will persuade followers of Islam peace is a better way. They can explain the Koran in a way that stresses peace, work to remove poverty through independent responsibility, develop trade plans with all countries, muslim and all others.

When peace does reign worldwide, visualize the things that will begin to happen; envision the world in which we will be living. Some of these things that can be imagined include:

1...every country is guaranteed freedom of religion, without persecution of any kind in any country or society.

2...no one is fearful of attack, invasion, occupation; the potential of a nuclear holocaust becomes a thing of the past horror, as nuclear proliferation ends.

3...leaders are elected by honest popular vote all over the world.

4...the monies previously spent on armaments and fire power is now applied to solving the problems of poverty and education, removing the reason for war, conflict and terror.

5...fair judicial systems come into existence in all countries.

6...trade channels are opened among all nations, and investments in free enterprise occur in and from all nations.

7...cultural exchange occurs among all nations, more of others ways of life are shared.

8...tourism by all into all other countries begins to improve understanding and economy.

9...friendly sports, art, and academic shows and competition happens among all nations.

10..infrastructures of the nations would be initiated and maintained.

11..a real war could be waged on two fronts...disease and education.

12..research and exploration would be joint ventures among many nations.

13..toleration, acceptance of others, forgiving attitudes, less fear and suspicion would result, less stress with life...all these good things would be promoted leading to better standards and quality of life worldwide, with more productivity, and less loss of life.

To achieve this what has to happen?

1...World wide religious freedom must be guaranteed by all nations..

2...Terror mentality must be ended.

3...All Muslim leaders must stop the violent aspect of jihad.

4...The purposes and objectives of the United Nations must be strenghthened.

5...World leaders must draw up world plans for maintaining peace.

6...Vitriolic rhetoric must be kept out of diplomatic dialogue.

7...Sunlight must shine on national relations (no "shady deals").

8...All WMD development must cease, guranteed by the union of peace keeping states.
