Bronx Zoo trip 2

I went again to the Bronx Zoo today because I had half a day at work & thought it
would be the best time for me & no crowds....WRONG!  It was pretty crowded
again.  Perfect day I guess for many people to be at the Bronx Zoo.  I got there at 2
PM & school children were leaving.  I went back b/c I never got a chance to capture
any Lion shots....In fact, I didn't see the lions, we missed them & went in the opposite direction.
So I found the lions...& I thought I was happy....but then I saw in
a distance a PROUD peacock just strutting off his stuff!

So this is for Kat & Nancy ....we waited & waited for them  to show us their
feathers.....Nothing....so this time I really didn't expect to see them, & quite a few
 were showing off.

I wasn't feeling too great so I only stayed for 2 hours...I promised Nancy I wouldn't
over do it....But once your there, I guess I felt I needed to make sure I didn't miss
 anything....I left at 4.

That is my wish-to have a peacock.
When I was small, we went to the Cleveland Zoo and we kept hearing a sound that sounded like HELP-HELP-and there was a peacock sitting  high up on a roost of some sort and me being the cocky lil brat looks up and says -you got up there by yourself-you can get down by yourself.
You are so very lucky to have gotten these shots in all it's glory.!!!!!!

The back lighting on that first shot adds a wonderful element. There were always a lot of peacocks where I grew up, but I rarely see them where I live now. Thanks for the memories!

Great shot. Peacocks always seem camera shy when I get near them.
