November 7th elections
I thought I would try and help through this maze of propositions and judges. California as we all know is in a mess, and as we know most of these propositions are all bunk. The propositions below are from a conservative point of view. There are a few judges which are definitely nos. Judges have tended to act as the legislature by making the laws, so getting rid of the right judges is important. The best way to do this is by voting out the judges who were appointed by Democrats and retaining the judges who were appointed by Republicans. Below I list all the judges and who appointed them. Schwarzenegger of course is the question mark, about 55% of his judges are conservative and the others liberal, so that is where the coin toss comes in. Its explained below.
General Election - November 7, 2006
Prop. 1A Transportation Funding Protection: YES! For years, the Legislature has raided our highway taxes for general fund spending. Though it’s more window dressing than relief, this measure makes it marginally harder to do so.
Prop. 1B Transportation Bond: NO! Although some of this money is for long overdue road construction, most goes for equipment, maintenance and social programs that will be obsolete decades before our children have finished paying off the debt. Californians pay the third highest tax per gallon of gasoline in the country – and yet we rank 43rd in per capita spending on highways. Our neglected roads are not the taxpayers’ fault.
Prop. 1C Housing Bond: NO! Economics 1: When something is plentiful, it’s cheap; when it is scarce, it’s expensive. Housing prices have skyrocketed because governmental regulations have kept the supply of new housing from meeting the demand. By pouring more (borrowed) money into the market without reducing those restrictions, the effect will be to force UP both home prices and taxes.
Prop. 1D Education Bond: NO! Five billion dollars of new school spending is apparently not enough – so here comes another school bond. But once again, most of the money is going for stuff that won’t be around when our children are still paying off the debt. Won’t our kids have their own schools to repaint without paying for painting that was done 30 years ago?
Prop. 1E Levee Bond: YES! Almost all of this money goes for levee construction that our great-grandchildren will use. Why should anyone outside of Sacramento care? Collapse of the Delta levees means collapse of the state water project – and billions of dollars of state liabilities paid for by ALL taxpayers. This is a classic ounce of prevention saving a pound of cure.
Prop. 83 Jessica’s Law: YES! Placed on the ballot by initiative when the legislature failed to act, this proposition is named for the little Florida girl who was killed by a released sex-offender. Prop. 83 prohibits felony registered sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of a school or park and requires lifetime GPS monitoring.
Prop. 84 Park Bond: NO! A grab bag of local pork projects (some exempt from competitive bidding requirements and conflict of interest laws) paid for by a generation of taxpayers.
Prop. 85 Parental Notification: YES! Your 16-year-old daughter cannot use a tanning bed or get her ears pierced without your written consent, but she can undergo a surgical abortion without you even being notified. This measure restores your right to know what is happening to your own child.
Prop. 86 Cigarette Tax: NO! Why should non-smokers care about a measure that increases the tax on a pack of cigarettes to $2.60? Because it gives smokers a huge incentive to avoid the entire tax by buying cigarettes through friends or family out of state. And who do you think the government will be coming after to make up the resulting drop in cigarette tax collections?
Prop. 87 Oil Tax: NO! Just when you thought gasoline taxes were high enough, along comes this gem to increase them more. Another economics lesson: When you tax something, you get less of it and the price goes up.
Prop. 88 Parcel Tax: NO! Here’s yet another way to get into your pocket: add an extra $50 to your annual property tax bill for still more money for schools. What makes anyone think this money will get any closer to the classroom than the $11,000+ per student we already pump in?
Prop. 89 Taxpayer Funding of Campaigns: NO! I love this one – force taxpayers to foot the bill for politicians’ campaigns. But remember Thomas Jefferson’s warning: "To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
Prop. 90 Protect Our Homes: YES! Restores the Fifth Amendment property rights protections in the Bill of Rights that the U.S. Supreme Court shredded with its infamous Kelo decision. Prop. 90 prohibits local officials from seizing homes and businesses for the profit of politically well-connected private interests, and requires government to pay you for any damage it does to your property.
California Appellate Court Justice Election Information Following is a list of the Supreme Court and Appeals Court Justices who must stand for election after initial appointment or have been elected in a prior election and now must stand for re-election. Other than the two Supreme Court associate justices, following the name of each appellate court justice is an indication of the California Appeals Court District where each presides and the name of the appointing Governor. Since this is a list for all of California, only the two Supreme Court justices and those justices from your appellate district will appear on your ballots. They are listed in alphabetical order for easy reference:
I should add that a Davis or Brown appointee is almost always a Democrat and a Wilson or Deukmejian appointee a Republican. With Schwarzenegger... I guess using the numbers above (which is more of an art than a science) you can figure that around 55% of the time it’s a GOPer... Cynthia G. Aaron, District 4 -- Davis Richard D. Aldrich, District 2 -- Wilson Patricia D. Benke, District 4 -- Deukmejian Cole Blease, District 3 -- Jerry Brown Roger W. Boren, District 2 -- Wilson Kathleen Butz, District 3 -- Davis Candace D. Jury Spares Moussaoui's Life?
Moussaoui's life is spared. What isn't mentioned is the fact he was raised by a single Mom, and he had an unstable childhood - an excuse by an admitted terrorist. Is there any doubt why Bush doesn't try these Al-Queda terrorists in a court room or supply them with attorneys. We have become soft as a nation, and the terrorists know it. We will not lose this war because we do not have the power. We are going to lose this war because we do not have the will, and we have become "Useful Idiots". Where is the World War 2 generation? Time and time again we have to deal with the hippies of the 60 generations.
We will probably spend millions of dollars to protect this scumbag from the rest of the inmates, and I thought prisons were the new breeding ground for terrorists. The jurors should have been forced to watch "United 93."
The one statement I agreed with that Moussaoui shouted as he left the courtroom was "America - you lost I won!!!.", and then he clapped his hands twice. The only hope is someone will find a way to blow his brains out so he can go and meet his 72 virgins.
Would the outcome have been any different if he were tried in France? The European Union no longer allows the term Islamist Terrorist in their documents for fear of raising the Ire of Islam.
I am furious with the liberal Kumbaya crowd. This is a major victory for Al-Queda
This world is doomed
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (May 3) - A federal jury rejected the death penalty for al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui on Wednesday and decided he must spend life in prison for his role in the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history.
After seven days of deliberation, the nine men and three women rebuffed the government's appeal for death for the only person charged in this country in the four suicide jetliner hijackings that killed nearly 3,000 people on Sept. 11, 2001.
Three jurors decided Moussaoui had only limited knowledge of the Sept. 11 plot and three described his role in the attacks as minor, if he had any role at all.
Moussaoui, as he was led out of the courtroom after the 15-minute hearing, said: "America, you lost. I won." He clapped his hands as he was escorted away.
The verdict came after four years of legal maneuvering and a six-week trial that put jurors on anemotional roller coaster and gave the 37-year-old Frenchman of Moroccan descent a platform to taunt Americans. The judge was to hand down the life sentence Thursday morning, bound by the jury's verdict.
The jury did not reach the unanimity required for a death sentence. Whether jurors were split on that question or unanimous on a life sentence was not announced.
The jury did agree unanimously that Moussaoui "knowingly created a grave risk of death" for more than the intended victims of Sept. 11 and committed his acts with "substantial planning" - accepting"two of the aggravating factors necessary for a death sentence.
But they did not give sufficient weight to those findings to reach a death sentence, balancing them against mitigating factors offered by the defense. Jurors did not, however, accept defense arguments that Moussaoui was mentally ill.

The illegals are ignorant too!!!
My wife is from Nicaragua, and both she and I are against the Senate's bill. She came here legally. We spent ten years trying to bring her sister up here, and when her sister finally became eligible, she had contracted Lupus so she could not come. My niece wanted to come, and I told her she had to come legally. She finally came legally. She waited in line like every other legal immigrant. But, there are two assumptions many illegal Mexicans make about us.
1) We are automatically going to support amnesty for lawbreakers and
2) My wife came here illegally.
Is this ignorant or what. Not all Hispanics support amnesty especially those who had to wait in line. Do you feel upset when someone cuts in front in the lunch line?

Go figure!!!
So, Let me understand this, the biggest employers in Mexico (ie: WalMart) are American Companies. Mexican Citizens to show their solidarity with the lawbreakers in the United States are going to boycott American companies in Mexico. I thought they were protesting so they could work. Is there a little bit of irony to boycott the same companies that give you jobs in your own country. Can someone help me understand this? Is this the proverbial "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Maybe the American companies should just pull out and let Mexico drown in their own corruption.

A rewrite of the US National Anthem in Spanish ?
Here are part of the lyrics to the US National Anthem in Spanish
At the end some child shouts "Somos latinos papá:" We are latins Daddy!
Oh, let it be like this always, Faithfully we will defend, Our native land against the clumsy invader.. To God who gave us peace, liberty and honor, He maintained us as a nation, with fervor let us bless our house, it is the good, and therefore we will triumph. In God we trust will always be our motto.
Notice the irony. These Mexicans are talking about this land as being their native land, and the invaders must be the American Citizens.
Here is what should happen May 1st.
1) Employers should fire anyone who participates in these demonstrations
2) Immigration should have a presence at these demonstrations and deport anyone who is illegal.
3) Any child of school age participating in these demonstrations should be suspended. If the child's parents are illegal, the entire family should be deported.
4) Every true American Citizen should save their money and shop at any place who takes a stand against these demonstrations.
5) Any company who takes a stand against these demonstrations should be frequented and supported long after this May 1 demonstration.
It is time for the American People to revolt against this invasion, and it is time we revolt against these spineless and gutless politicians who are not doing what is right, but are only trying to serve their self-interests.

The hypocrisy of it all
Mexico 1) puts the military on both of its borders 2) It is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico 3) Foreigners cannot protest in Mexico - it is against the law, and you will be thrown in jail 4) If you are a foreigner and get an extended visa, you can be booted out for any reason. 5) A naturalized Mexican citizen does not have the same rights as an native born citizen 6) Mexico deports more illegal aliens than the US does 7) Foreigners in Mexico receive no Mexican benefits
Notice the hypocrisy
Bush, you are either with us or against us - Are you for Mexico or are you for Americans? (North Americans that is)

The true cost of Illegal Immigration
click the following URL similar to warning the British are coming
http://www.sfgate.com/comics/fiore/
Before I cite the following links and other items of interest concerning this illegal immigration, I have one thing to say,
-PRESIDENT BUSH, I VOTED FOR YOU, WHY DON'T YOU GET IT!!!!!!!!!! THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT WANT A GUEST WORKER PROGRAM, WE DO NOT WANT AN AMNESTY PROGRAM, WE DO NOT WANT MEXICO'S POVERTY, WE WANT ONE THING - CLOSED BORDERS!!!! We WANT THE NATIONAL GUARD ON THE BORDER AND WE WANT A FENCE. WE WANT OUR COUNTRY SECURE FROM TERRORISTS AND THE MILLIONS OF MEXICANS WHO ARE INVADING OUR COUNTRY - STOP THE MADNESS AND DO WHAT 2/3RDS OF AMERICANS WANT.
Ok now, that I got that off my chest, to the matter at hand -
Rich Lowry lays it out, the true cost of illegal immigration Rich Lowry on Immigration on National Review Online
Even the liberal newspapers are getting in the fray such as the LA times. In their article http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/g/a/2006/04/05/cstillwell.DTL in part they write
America is no longer asked to give refuge to the poor, huddled masses but to allow itself to be overrun by them.
Bush's utter contempt for American citizenship was made apparent during a recent speech at a naturalization ceremony in Washington. Standing in front of a banner reading "Securing the American Dream," he had the gall to discuss benefits for illegal immigrants. To expect a group of people who made the effort to become legal citizens to be sympathetic to rewarding lawbreakers is beyond comprehension. When the law becomes meaningless, so does citizenship.
If the unholy alliance of business interests, labor unions, liberal elements of the Catholic Church and other clergy, Hispanic organizations, civil rights groups and leftist organizations has its way, America as we know it will be a thing of the past.
Here is a letter that was sent in to KSFO radio in San Francisco
Judi-- Woodside== I received this from a friend in Southern California andthought you would be interested.
HERE'S THE MESSAGE FROM THE FRIEND. As you all listen to the news aboutthe student protests over illegal immigration there are some things that you should be aware of. As most of you know my wife is in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socio economic and income levels. Most of the schools you are hearing about South Gate High, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, etc., where these students are protesting are also Title 1 schools. My wife tells me that 100% of the students in her school and other Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast, free lunch program. When I say free breakfast I' m not talking a glass of milk and roll... but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten. She estimates that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids. She was ordered to spend $700,000 on her department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; her budget was already substantial. She ended up buying new computers for their computer learning center. Half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America. She has had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them " Putas"--whores--and throwing things that the teachers were in tears. Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc.. etc.. etc.. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements? To my conservative friends: I hope your really proud of how George W. Bush has helped to sell-out this country with his pro-illegal policy. I voted for him, too, but on this issue he is a disaster. To my bleeding-heart liberal friends who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to oursociety because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs. Higher insurance, Medical facilities closing, higher medical , more crime , lower standards of education in our schools , overcrowding, new diseases etc.. etc.. etc.. For me--- I 'll pay more for tomatoes. We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really think they will leave and return voluntarily? There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our country and many that I consider my true friends. We should encourage and accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way. It does, however, have everything to do with culture. A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate... and an American culture that has become so weak and politically correct that we don¹t have the will to do anything about it.

Hearing We've gotta get out of this place
"Justicia Para Todos"
Are we really a nation of Immigrants as Bush states? Or is that another blatant lie to promote the President’s agenda of compassionate conservatism? Michelle Malkin rightly states that we are not a nation of immigrants. How many of us even know where we came from? My last name is Dias. Dias is a Portuguese last name; the Latin version of my name is Diaz. My Dad says we came from Chile, but I say we came from Portugal. In essence, my dad doesn’t know, and I don’t know. In fact, no member in my family can trace our roots back to more than one generation. Remember the mini-series “Roots” by Alex Haley. It was a huge undertaking for him to retrace his origins and that postdates most Americans’ roots. Mexico is a land of Immigrants as much as the United States. If I recall it was the Spanish who conquered the Aztec and the Mayan empires in Mexico. In fact, Cortez was the first illegal in Mexico. Yet, I don’t see anyone clamoring for their rights in Mexico.
Before I enter into this immigrant issue, let me segue into the meaning of Compassionate Conservatism coined by the Bush Administration. Compassionate Conservativism is a recondite term, anathema to true conservatism, whose true meaning has only become apparent as the Bush presidency continues to unfold. Compassionate Conservative means appeasing the liberal left while pitting Republican against Republican. It means compromising conservative values. It means allowing former president Clinton to continuously undermine the Bush presidency while Senior Bush pretends to have an erstwhile companion in former President Clinton as they pose for photo-ops in an eclectic array of golf courses. Compassionate Conservatism is watching President Bush become bed fellows with the spiritual leader of the Democratic Party, Ted Kennedy with his “No Child Left Behind Act” to the chagrin of his conservative base. Compassionate Conservatism is watching Bush continually tout about securing the borders with a guest worker program in the mistaken belief he will garner votes for the Republican Party. No right minded conservative believes illegal aliens turned citizen will help the Republican Party. Guest worker is simply code for amnesty, and when did guest mean someone entering the United States illegally and uninvited. Compassionate conservatism means Bush employing Democratic hacks like Norman Mineta and refusing to fire him when he endangers our national security and American lives by not allowing profiling at airports and by not allowing pilots to arm themselves in order to avert another hijacking. Compassionate conservatism means watching Bush go down in history as the biggest spender in American history by never vetoing a single bill and by attempting to outspend even Ted Kennedy with his huge Medicare prescription program whose only end will help bring about the left’s socialistic utopia equaling or topping that of the French. Compassionate conservatism means going to war without the will to win in the hopes of appeasing the left. It didn’t work in Vietnam and it won’t work now. We hesitate to shoot at the enemy if it means we might stub his toe, or if we might hurt his feelings. What the Republican party needs is a little bit less compassion and a lot more conservatism.
Is it civil war in Iraq or is it civil war in the United States? There may be no guns involved, but make no mistake, we are in crisis mode, and how we deal with this immigration issue will dictate what America’s future will be like in the coming decades. Lou Dobb, the anchor and manager of Lou Dobb tonight said it so aptly, “There are 230 million legal US citizens. These are the people who will carry the burden of the 12 million plus illegal aliens.” Of course, those ranks will swell to 16 million once the illegals bring their families. France for decades has ignored their immigration problem. They watch helplessly as Muslims emigrate in droves from North Africa. Afraid of being called racists, they allow the new immigrants entrance into their huge welfare bureaucracy. In the end, France has come face to face with the consequences of such policies; riots, a loss of identity, terrorism, and the list goes on. Here in the United States, The flood of illegals continues to pour across our border with no abatement in sight. 2/3rds of Americans want secure borders, but both parties, who are supposedly elected to represent the people, continue to pander for the Hispanic vote by importing Mexico’s poverty. Any country that imports poverty will be a poorer nation because of it. The Democrats actually have a valid point in this regard. Making illegals citizens will expand the Democratic base, enhance the welfare state, and lower everyone’s standard of living.
There is no desire on the part of the illegals to assimilate into American Society. Throughout the country, protests spring up with Mexican flags and banners emblazoned with pithy apothegms such as “Justicia para todos.” . Why aren’t they waving these banners in Mexico – is not that their home? Maybe it is because their government is so corrupt; there is no justice for all in Mexico.
I have always been interested in foreign cultures, so in my youth, I attended several MECHA meetings even though I am not a Chicano. MECHA is a Chicano-rights activist organization dedicated to the reestablishment of Atzlan. The organization’s stated goal is the following:
THE PROGRAM OF EL PLAN DE AZTLÁN
El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán, sets the theme that the Chicanos must use their nationalism as the key or common denominator for mass mobilization and organization. Once we are committed to the idea and philosophy of El Plan de Aztlán, we can only conclude that social, economic, cultural and political independence is the only road to total liberation from oppression, exploitation and racism. Our struggle then must be the control of our Barrios, campos, pueblos, lands, our economy, our culture and our political life. El Plan commits all levels of Chicano society--the barrio, the campo, the ranchero, the writer, the teacher, the worker, the professional--to La Causa.
Atzlan in Aztec legend is the original home of the Aztec people, held to have been located in northwest Mexico, the American Southwest, (California, Texas and Arizona), specifically theterritory of northern Mexico ceded to the United States by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.
When I heard them talking about Atzlan, I used to think it was just a pipe dream, but now I am not so sure. Bush is falling into their hands. Make no mistake – We are being invaded by Mexico and like France we too will lose our identity. My wife is from Nicaragua, and she had to go through a long process to get US citizenship. We had to go through the same process with relatives. We spent ten years trying to get my sister-in-law up here, and when she became eligible, she had contracted Lupus, and because of the disease she was ineligible to come. What this guest worker/amnesty program does is demean the US citizenship status of any immigrant who came here legally.
I spent time in Spain in the early 70s during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. On all the Spanish coinage during the time was inscribed the motto, “Francisco Franco, el caudillo de España por la Gracia de Dios” which meant “Francisco Franco, the leader of Spain by the Grace of God.” Bush’s next jaunt is to see his buddy and America’s enemy President Fox. Bush might as well continue with his “Compassionate Conservatism.” In other words, why not just cede the entire Southwestern United States to Mexico, MECHA’s goal, and while he is at it, he can change our currency to read from “In God We Trust” to the following, “El Presidente Fox, el caudillo de los estados unidos por la gracia de los inmigrantes ilegales.”, “President Fox, the leader of the United States by the grace of the illegal aliens.” Why fight? After all, isn’t this where we are headed?

Governor Napolitano
I do not know Governor Janet Napolitano views on anything except for the fact that she is a Democrat, but what I do know is she is sending National Guard Troops to the border. Its about time a Governor finally took action. My hats go off to her.

Yeah for Bush!!!
The Times continues to undermine the Bush administration., http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/16/politics/16program.html?hp&ex=1134795600&en=c7596fe0d4798785&ei=5094&partner=homepage. The time reports Bush Lets Spy on callers without courts. Is this is not a good thing? I am quite sure most Americans would rather give up a little security for more security.
The problem here is the Islamic Radicals look at this war as a 100 year war. They have patience, and they have time. Our patience does not last past the length of a one-term administration, 4 years. The Times and the ACLU are worried about eroding our civil liberties. I wonder how many liberties we will have to give up if a dirty bomb is detonated somewhere in the US. If there is a nuclear attack, who will bet the New York Times will come out with a piece that Bush didn’t do enough?
The Islamic-Fascists are fighting a war without rules. They know our weaknesses. We have to worry about hurting someone’s feelings while they chop their enemy’s head off, (the enemy, of course, is anyone who is not their version of an Islamist). That would include Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan. Britain proposes closing mosques where radical Imans continue to espouse their views and recruit new members. The proposal was dropped, however, for fear of offending the Islamic population currently living in the UK. BBC NEWS | UK | UK Politics | Mosque closure proposals dropped The recent attack in the UK did not seem to sway them. Iraq just voted in their new government, a step towards a democratic world, and a step forward in winning the war on terror. But, as the Bush administration makes one step forward, the left always manages to take us two steps backwards.
What is missing here is this – the world has yet to realize we are in World War three, a battle for our very existence. It doesn’t matter how many terrorist plots we uncover, or how many suicide bombers there are, we will not get serious about this war on terror until there is a Weapon of Mass Destruction detonated in the United States, and then it will be too late.
