No liberal bias in the news media?

All I can say is it's about time.  Four executives from CBS have been fired because of Rathergate.  Mary Mapes, one of the top executives was closely connected to the Kerry campaign.  Lou Guzzo, a former KIRO news commentator who served as counselor to the late Gov. Dixy Lee Ray, a Democrat, says advocates in journalism are fine, "but if you're as liberal and activist as Mary and work on the news rather than the opinion side, it creates problems."  Michel Malkin talks about Mary Mapes in an expose dated Sept 16, 2004 Michelle Malkin: Discussion on THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY MAPES.  Can you imagine if Kerry had won, and two months later we find out CBS was in bed with the Kerry campaign.

Note:  All you global warming fanatics - Record cold temperatures and flash flooding on the west coast.  Yeap, the earth is warming up.

    Mark,

Keep in mind that are those of us who don't consider Kerry very liberal.  But aside from that, I'm wondering if you know of any studies that have been done that actually back up the claim that the media is liberal.  I know of numerous studies done by Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) that undermine this claim.  Hopefully you would agree that one liberal story does not make the media liberal.

Who gets more airtime?  In the run up to the war in Iraq, for instance, did we see a parade of anti-war voices or voices from those who offered an alternative plan?  Or did we see a parade of generals and other pro-war people?

As to global warming, you must realize that a record cold spell in one spot on the globe does not change the overall temperature of the planet and the fact that it's been on the rise for quite some time.  There certainly are fanatics out there of al persuasions, but not everyone who is concerned about global warming and its impacts are fanatics.

I hope to hear back from you.
