Hey y'all..
some good news!!!!
Tuesday I got a call from trombonist/producer Jeff Bradshaw asking me if I wanted to come to Jill's show in Baltimore! Of course I went,and it was AMAZING!! The band is fantastic and Jill is excellent. she was in great voice and she talked a lot of sh*t which was very entertaining!
I didn't get a chance to meet her after the show,but Wednesday Jeff called me and said Jill wanted me to come back because she wanted to meet me!!
So my friend Angie (who sings with me and alot of other people!) went back to the show and afterward went backstage to meet her. After a few minutes she came out and she started screaming when she saw me and started bowing and stuff and I bowed to her too!! She was soooooo sweet! I am so glad to see her beautiful spirit for myself.She is radiant! I wanted to meet her for so long,that was so sweet of her to tell me the same,it made me feel really great!!

I have been going through so much in my personal life lately,this was truly A God-given,much needed boost!!

Anyway,I asked her if she would produce me on my next record and hse said she would love it!!

So I'm going to jump on that right away!!!
Wouldn't that be cool..!!!!

My "Fiance" Michael Baisden

Michael Baisden has started something!! When I got home from L.A.,there were 14 emails of people congratulating me on becoming engaged to Michael Baisden.

I am trippin'!

I had a great time taping Baisden After Dark. Michael and George Wilburn and Morris Day were alot of fun! Michael's staff and crew are EXCELLENT!! They treated me and my peeps like royalty. I swear,I was so happy!! Michael is such a trip.Such a sweet man and he really knows how to make a girl feel great! I have been reading his books for so long..(Maintenance Man is my favorite),I always fantasized if his man characters were really various parts of his personality.

I sat down and did an interview with Michael and Morris Day,and then at the end of the show I did "I Can't Help It" with the band,who were absolutely KILLER!!

We had a ball.

My manager Berenice and one of my best friends Kim Brewer( she got me my audition with Stevie Wonder 17 years ago!) were with me.

I got to meet Tina Marie!! And she was performing Cassanova Brown,one of the first songs I sang at high school talent shows.

I had a good time in Detroit!

Well,no thanks to Northwest who lost my luggage until two hours before the show on Sunday. Oh my GOD I was stressed out.

I can't believe Delroy Lindo came to the show!! His wife is a beautiful lady I used to know a long tme ago when I was at Morgan State. She used to braid my hair!! I had no idea they were married!! They are so sweet!

Anyway, I'm getting ready to do the Baisden After Dark TV taping in LA on Saturday.
Tomorrow(Thursday) I'm going to New York to record with Jason Miles for his new To Grover with Love CD.
Next week ,I'm off to Indonesia to do the Jak Jazz Fest.
when I get home,I'm going to work on finishing the LIVE CD...it may be released totally digitally!
