Wal-Mart New York

News from NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets

31 Wal-Mart Stores to Feature NY Products

ALBANY, NY -- (10/11/2005; 1230)(EIS) -- The Pride of New York Program and Wal-Mart stores throughout New York State are celebrating the bounty of the harvest season this week with a weeklong showcase of foods grown and made in New York. From October 8-14, 31 Wal-Mart stores across New York State will highlight food items from the more than 1,500 Pride of New York members will be highlighted with in-store signage.

State Agriculture Commissioner Nathan L Rudgers said, "From Buffalo to Long Island, New York State produces an abundance of excellent foods -- from farm-fresh apples and vegetables to an enormous variety of baked goods, dairy products and more. Having such items prominently displayed as Pride of New York products in all of New York's Wal-Mart stores effectively helps guide consumers seeking fresh wholesome products from the Empire State."
