Wal-Mart Sales
CHICAGO (Oct. 8) Reuters- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on Saturday said it still expects a 2 percent to 4 percent increase in October sales at its U.S. stores open at least a year, confirming a forecast it gave just two days earlier.
On a recorded message, the world's biggest retailer said grocery demand outpaced sales of general merchandise, and the West was its strongest region.
Wal-Mart said two of its stores remained closed due to Hurricane Rita as of Saturday, while 11 were still closed because of Hurricane Katrina.
