Having been a nurse and going thru chemotherapy myself (I never used pot) I can attest that you will do everything within your power to stay alive and strive to have a decent quality of life.  I am a survivor, however I wish I would have tried pot during my chemotherapy therapy treatments as I was vomiting and nauseated all the time.  Maybe I wouldn't have been so sick if I tried pot to control the nausea and vomiting.
