OKay Tammy, that sounds disgusting, but it is John's favorite dessert.  As a matter of fact, he almost never eats dessert, but he will eat bread pudding.  I ask him why he eats a bowl of wet bread, and he looks at me crazy.  But he loves the stuff.  So I am glad I now have the recipe and I will make it for him.  He has kidney damage, so I will leave the salt out, but he can eat every other ingredient!  I am so excited to now have the recipe!  He will jump for joy when I make him this concoction!  Thank you so much for posting this.  By the way, I don't know why you listed this as "country cooking", b/c this is PA Dutch!  It is probably our most popular dessert in Pennsylvania.  I am a transplant here, and like I said, it is gross, but thank you SO much for posting so I can make it for John.  Love you, girlie,

    Krissy :)
