Jason Giambi minor leaguer

The ultimate low has dawned upon Jason Giambi. As of tonight Tuesday, manager Joe Torre and general manager Brian Cashman have asked him to take a minor league assignment. Since Giambi is a veteran he must consent to this. The former MVP is hitting .195 and hitless in his last 15 at-bats. This all coming after he has been basically removed from his first base duties and sharing time DHing with Bernie Williams. After this BALCO scandal and peculiar time out last year with a Benign Tumor Giambi has lost a lot of weight and not produced. Giambi's last two years in Oakland he hit .333 and .342 with 43 and 38 home runs respectivley along with 137 and 120 RBI. In his years since coming to the Yankees he has hit .314, .250, .208 and currently is batting .195. Giambis production has seen a massive drop with 41 homeruns the first two years followed by 15 now currently 3. Has BALCO made that much of a difference  or is Giambi just struggling in the New York media we will see.

A jacked Giambi who won the AL MVP with the A's also was on steroids now a noteably thinner Giambi is being asked to go down to the minors for a re-assignment.
